Frequently asked questions

To start a cold engine, set the choke lever to the START position, prime the bulb 6 times, squeeze the throttle trigger, and pull the starter rope. Once the engine starts, move the choke lever to RUN and allow the engine to warm up for 5-20 seconds. To start a warm engine, simply pull the starter rope with a quick firm and consistent upward motion.

Use unleaded petrol intended for automotive use with an octane rating of 90 or higher, mixed with synthetic 2-stroke oil in a 50:1 ratio.

To advance the line, alternately press down on and release the bump head while pulling on the line. You can also try lubricating the line with silicone spray if it is welded to itself.

Stop the engine, disconnect the spark plug wire, and remove the grass. To prevent this, cut tall grass from the top down and operate the trimmer at full throttle.

Check the air filter monthly and replace it at least once a year for optimal performance. Clean the foam filter element with warm soapy water, rinse it, and let it dry. Apply a light coat of engine oil to the element before reinstalling it.
