ProductNews 17 Nov 2005 Release 4.0 of the Windows Driver Suite is available. This release is mainly adding windows driver support for TransForm A12. The software as a major part of the TransForm A - Suite Edition 5.4 is included and comes pre-installed with every TransForm A Windows system from now on. Release note Windows Driver Suite – Release 4.0 TransForm A12 Release 4.0 of the Windows Driver Suite is the first release to support the new device TRANSFORM A OMNIBUS A12, cf. BCD ProductNews Volume 5, issue 16. On top of the fully transparent handling of the SwitchFabric architecture of OMNIBUS A12, the monitoring of all its critical hardware components is a basic part of the added functionality. This includes the status of the three redundant power modules, the 5 temperature sensors on the backplane and the two chassis fans. This status information is accessible through the TRANSFORM A Device Explorer application (DEX), an inherent part of the standard driver installation package. Expansion cards As the list of supported decoder algorithms varies depending on the actually installed firmware version of the STREAMING VIDEO CARD, a function has been implemented to query the available algorithms during runtime. This list is available through the boards settings dialogs of the video.exe application and APOLLO FRG viewer as well. A refined preset handling for the DUAL RGB INPUT CARD allows a convenient update to a new version of the driver. By merging presets it is now possible to preserve own presets and also import new ones. With HDTV+ (1920x1200) the list of supported display resolutions could be extended. This resolution is available on the digital DVI-D outputs of TRANSFORM A systems using the current output cards (UGX GRAPHIC CARD, OMNISCALER UXGA) Used bandwidth indication The TRANSFORM A Device Explorer application (DEX) now provides information about the bandwidth usage per input card and for the system in total. Although the calculation of the required bandwidth is typically done beforehand on paper or by using the BFO configurator, it can be helpful to verify these calculated values in the running system or to detect potential bandwidth bottlenecks in critical system configurations. For further information, please have a look at the updated compatibility matrices on the PartnerZone and in the user manual!
