PURPOSES OF THIS MANUAL
WE ARE GREATEFULLY TO YOU FOR CHOOSING OUR PRODUCTS, WE ARE CONFIDENT THAT
OUR MILLING MACHINES WILL SATISFY YOUR EXPECTIONS FOR THEY HAVE MANY
OUSTANDING FEATURES SUCH AS RIGIDITY, HIGH ACCURACY , VERSATILITY... .ETC.
IN ORDER TO MANIFEST THROUGHLY THE PERFORMANCES OF THESE MILLING MACHINES,
FOR IT MAY BE USED FOR A LONG TIME WITHOUT ANY TROUBLE. WE EXPECT ALL
OPERATORS AND THOSE WHO CONCERNED WITH MAINTENANCE WILL READ THIS MANUAL
CAREFULLY BEFORE STARTING THESE MACHINE FOR IT DESCRIBES OPERATION.
INSPECTION, MAINTENANCE, LUBRICATION AND PROCEDURES OF SET UP OF THESE
MACHINES. WE HOPE ALL OPERATORS ALWAYS CONSULT THIS MANUAL, FOR THESE
MACHINES LONG LIFE,
CH 1 : CHECK THE FOLLOWING BOXES
UNCRATING:
1, CAREFULLY REMOVE PROTECTIVE CRATING AND SKIDS SO THAT THE MACHINE AND
PARTS ARE NOT DAMAGED. IN THE EVENT OF DAMAGE IN TRANSPORTATION,
IMMEDIATELY MAKE CLAIM TO SHIPPING COMPANY, AND NOT TO THE FACTORY.
MACHINE SHOULD BE LIFTED BY INSTALLING AN EYE BOLT IN TAPPERED HOLE
ON TOP OF OVERARM.
SHORTAGES :
2. IN CASE OF SHORTAGES, REPORT THEM IMMEDIATELY TO YOUR SUPPLIER.
CLEANING:
3. THROUGHLY CLEAN ALL SURFACES WITH KEROSENE,
DO NOT MOVE THE TABLE, SADDLE, KNEE OR ANY MOVEABLE PART UNTIL ALL WAY
HAVE BEEN WELL CLEANED AND LUBRICATED.LUBICATE EXPOSED WAYS AND THEN
MOVE EACH UNIT TO THE OPPOSITE LIMIT STOP AND CLEAN AND LUBRICATE THE
EXPOSED WAYS. LOOSEN BOLTS TO UNLOCK OVERARM AND MOVE IT FORWARD AND
BACKWARD TO THE FULL LENGTH IN ORDER TO CLEAN AND LUBRICATE.
PLACING AND FOUNDATION:
4. WHEN SETTING MACHINE ON AN IRREGULAR SURFACE, SHINS SHOULD BE USED TO
CORRECT THIS CONDITION. IT IS RECOMMENDED THAT THE MACHINE BE SECURED
TO THE FLOOR TO PREVENT MOVEMENT.
5. WHEN SETTING MACHINE ON A CONCRETE FOUNDATION IT IS ADVISABLE TO USED
A LITTLE GROUT, (THIN MORTAR) TO TAKE CARE OF ANY UNEVENNESS IN THE
CONCRETE AS WELL AS TO PROVIDE A SOLID FOUNDATION AT ALL POINTS.
LEVELING MACHINE:
6. SET MACHINE BY LEVELING THE WORK TABLE LENGTHWISE AND CROSSWISE WITH
A PRECISION INSTRUMENT.
ALIGNMENT OF HEAD:
7. ALIGN MILLING HEAD SQUARE WITH WORKING TABLE AND RE- INDICATE THE ZERO
POSITION. TIGHTEN NUTS EVENLY, USING NORMAL PRESSURE TO AVOID
EXCESSIVE PRESSURE SINCE THIS WILL CAUSE DISTORTION IN THE QUILL.
NOTE: WHEN INDICATING AS SHOWN, IT SHOULD BE NOTED THAT THE TABLE IS
FITTED TO BE SLIGHTLY HIGHER IN FRONT, USUALLY ABOUT .0005"

HANDLES :
8. WHEN CRATING, THE THREE BALL CRANK HANDLES ARE SOMETIMES TURNED TO
FACT THE MACHINE. IN THESE CASES THE HANDLES SHOULD BE REVERSED BEFORE
OPERATING.
9. BE SURE THAT THESE HANDLES ARE VERY WELL SECURED AND END NUTS WELL
TIGHTENED, (LEFT HANDLE SHOULD BE INSTALLED AND TIGHTENED FIRST)
OTHERWISE THE DIALS WILL READ FAULTY MOVEMENTS OF THE TABLE.
ELECTRIC INSTALLATION:
10. CHECK YOUR BUILDING ELECTRIC VOLTAGE.
11. CHECK YOUR MACHINE WIRING.
12. IN CASE OF DOUBT, REQUEST THE SERVICE OF AN INDUSTRIAL ELECTRICIAN.
(WE CAN NOT BE HELD RESPONSIBLE FOR BAD ELECTRIC CONNECTIONS).
SPECIAL ELECTRIC PACKAGES CAN BE PROVIDED BY OUR FACTORY ON REQUEST.
WARRANTY
OUR FACTORY WARRANTIES EACH MACHINE TOOL COVERED BY THIS SPECTFICATION
TO BE FREE FROM DEFECTIVE MATERIAL AND WORKMANSHIP FOR A PERIOD OF TWELVE
MONTHS FROM THE DATE OF SHIPMENT.
ASSUMING EQUIPMENT IS USED ON AN EIGHT HOUR DAY BASIS AND WHEN GIVEN
NORMAL AND PROPER USAGE, OWNED BY THE ORIGINAL PURCHASER AND NOT ALTERED
DURING THE WARRANTEE PERIOD. PARTS FOUND DEFECTIVE BY OUR INSPECTION
WILL BE REPLACED FREE OF CHARGE F.0.B. FACTORY.
ANY SALES AND/OR OTHER TAXES LEVIED BY CITY, STATE OR FEDERAL GOVERNMENTS

LEAST 8 (OR MORE) HOURS OF TRAINNING COURSE, AND UNDERSTAND THE DETAIL
OF THIS MANUAL, STILL,WE HOPE THE OPERATOR SHOULD FOLLOW THE TEACHING
OF AN OERATOR'S WHO OWN THE EXPERIENCE OF ACTUAL OPERATION FOR MORE
YEAR.

2. THE COATING IS BEST REMOVED BY USING PARAFFIN APPLIED WITH A
CLEAN BRUSH. WHEN THE COATING HAS SOFTENED, REMOVE WITH CLEAN
RAGS. |
3. OIL OR GREASE ALL LUBRICATION POINTS, REFER TO THE LUBRICATION
SECTION OF THIS MANUAL.

TO SET A MILLING HEAD SQUARE TO THE TABLE TWO METHODS ARE AVAILABLE:
I. USING A LARGE 90° SETSQUARE MOUNTED ON THE TABLE, ALIGN FACES WITH
SQUARE,
11, AN INDICATOR MOUNTED IN A SPINDLE NOSE TRAVELLING IN A 4 1/2"
RADIUS. IT IS IMPORTANT THAT EACH AXIS IS SET SEPARATELY AND
LOCKED.

A. BASIC DEMAND FOR OPERATION
1. THE OPERATOR DEMANDS BASIC READING € UNDERSTANDING OF MECHANICAL
DRAWING.

C. NORMAL OPERATION
AS PREVIOUSLY STATED, THE MACHINE MUST BE TOTALLY LUBRICATED,
A MOTOR REVERSING SWITCH 1S LOCATED ON THE UPPER FRONT OF THE MACHINE.
IN DIRECT DRIVE (HIGH SPEED) THE MOTOR AND SPINDLE ARE TURNING IN THE SAME
DIRECTION. IN LOW SPEED DRIVE (BACK GEAR) THE SPINDLE WOULD RUN BACKWARDS
UNLESS THE MOTOR DIRECTION IS REVERSED.
CAUTTON- IT 18 ADVISABLE TO ROTATE THE SPINDLE BY HAND TO BE SURE THE
CLUTCH IS ENGAGED PRIOR TO TURNING ON POWER TO THE HEAD. DO
NOT TURN ON THE MACHINE UNLESS THE SPINDLE CAN BE MOVED
FREELY.
DRIVING MECHANISM
C-1. CHANGING HEAD POSITIONS
THE HEAD CAN BE PRECISELY SWIVELED FORWARD AND BACKWARD 45° FROM THE
VERTICAL POSITION AND 360° IN ITS HORIZONTAL AXIS,
TO SWIVEL THE HEAD FORWARD AND BACKWARD LOOSEN THE 3 LOCKING BOLTS ON THE
RIGHT SIDE OF THE RAM AND TURN WORM GEAR UNTIL THE HEAD [S IN THE DESIRED
POSITION. TIGHTEN THESE 4 NUTS WITH 25 FOOT POUNDS OF TORQUE AND THEN
REPEAT TO A MAXIMUM OF 50 FOOT POUNDS.
C-2. OPERATING INSTRUCTIONS
a) DO NOT ATTEMPT TO SHIFT SPINDLE RPM WHILE MOTOR IS STOPPED.
b) BE CERTAIN THAT THE SPINDLE BRAKE IS RELEASED BEFORE STARTING THE MOTOR .
c) ROTATE THE SPINDLE BY HAND TO FACILITATE MESHING OF CLUTCH OR GEARS.
d) DO NOT USE QUILL POWER FEED AT SPEEDS ABOVE 3000 R.P.M .
e) IT 1S RECOMMENDED THAT THE POWER FEED WORM GEAR BE DISENGAGED WHENEVER
THE POWER FEED IS NOT REQUIRED.

TO THESE MEMBERS AND PROVIDE FOR HEAVIER CUTS WITH A MINIMUM OF
VIBRATION. THE SADDLE LOCKING LEVER IS LOCATED ON THE LEFT-HAND SIDE

EXCESSIVE PRESSURE CAN CAUSE SLIGHT TABLE BIND. USE MODERATE CLAMPING
PRESSURE, AS THIS WILL HOLD SADDLE SUFFICIENTLY.
THE TABLE CLAMP LEVER IS LOCATED ON FRONT SADDLE AND SHOULD ALWAYS BE
CLAMPED WHEN LONGITUDINAL MOVEMENT [S NOT REQUIRED.

THE KNEE CLAMPING LEVER IS AT THE LEFT SIDE OF THE KNEE AND SHOULD’ BE
DRAWN DOWNWARD TO CLAMP THE KNEE. THIS IS ONLY A TENSION BRAKE AND
WILL LOCK THE KNEE COMPLETELY. LEAVE CLAMPED AT ALL TIMES UNLESS USING
KNEE IN OPERATION.
IMPORTANT: TWO CLAMPS TO LOCK THE KNEE ARE LOCATED ON THE LEFT SIDE.
E. REMOVING TABLE
REMOVE AS FOLLOWS: ALL CRANK HANDLES, DIAL HOLDERS, BEARING BRACKETS.
SCREW WILL THEN TURN ALL THE WAY SO THAT IT CAN BE REMOVED. WHEN THIS
IS ACCOMPLISHED, THE TABLE CAN EASILY BE TAKEN OFF MERELY BY SLIDING
FROM SADDLE, SEE FIGURE.
F. REMOVING SADDLE
FOLLOW ALONG THE SAME LINES AS REMOVING TABLE; HOWEVER, IT IS NECESSARY
TO REMOVE ENTING FRONT BRACKET ASSEMBLY COMPLETELY. THEN REMOVE NUT
BRACKET WHICH HAS BECOME ACCESSIBLE AFTER TABLE HAS BEEN REMOVED.

G. POSITION OF RAM
RAM CAN BE REGULATED BY LOOSENING TWO BOLTS ON TURRET AND CRANKED
IN OR OUT TO DESIRED POSITION.
CAUTION : CARE SHOULD BE TAKEN TO LOCK RAM SECURELY AFTER SETTING,
IT IS RECOMMENDED THAT ON HEAVY MILLING WORK, THE HEAD
SHOULD BE LEFT AS CLOSE TO FACE OF TURRET AS POSSIBLE, AS

WE BUILT EASILY FIELD INSTALLATION POWER FEED FOR LONGITUDINAL, CROSS
AND VERTICAL TABLE FEED.
INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS ARE SUPPLIED WITH THEN.

DIGITAL READOUTS AND OTHER MEASURING SYSTEMS ARE AVAILABLE AND THEIR
INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS ARE SUPPLIED WITH THEM.
J. BACKLASH ADJUSTMENT
THE LONGITUDINAL LEAD SCREW AND THE CORSS LEAD SCREW EACH HAVE TWO
SLIGHTLY SEPARATED ANTI -BACKLASH NUTS LOCATED IN NUT HOLDER. TO
REMOVE BACKLASH DO THE FOLLOWING:
LONGITUDINAL-FROM THE LEFT SIDE OF THE MACHINE, LOCATE SCREWS
UNDERNEATH TABLE IN THE MAIN NUT SUPPORT. ( A LONG SCREWDRIVER AND
FLASH LIGHT WILL BE NECESSARY ). FIRST, LOOSEN SCREW. THEN TIGHTEN,
TURNING CLOCKWISE, SCREW. WHILE THIS IS BEING DONE, THE TABLE SHOULD
BE CRANKED BOTH DIRECTIONS, UNTIL THE DESIRED TIGHTNESS IS ACHEIVED.
CAUTION: A.006" BACKLASH IS DESIRABLE. IF THE ADJUSTMENT IS TOO TIGHT
EXCESSIVE WEAR TO THE LEAD SCREW WILL DEVELOP.
CROSS-REMOVE THE FOUR SOCKET SCREW FROM THE CROSS SUPPORT HOUSING.
LOCKING SADDLE SECURELY TO KNEE. BY CRANKING THE CROSS LEAD SCREW
CLOCKWISE AND UNLOCK SADDLE AND SLIDE ENTIRE TABLE ASSEMBLY TOWARD
OPERATOR. SCREWS AND WILL NOW BE EXPOSED AND CAN AJUSTED IN THE SAME
MANNER AS FOR LONGITUDINAL BACKLASH.
