Configuring the Gateway
The Gateway collects data from all sensors within range. If the internet connection is interrupted, the gateway’s internal storage will store readings to prevent data loss. Once the internet connection is re-established, any stored data is automatically transmitted. Since the gateway requires power for this operation, a battery backup is recommended in the event of a power outage.

Sensor Details
Displays the most current information of the selected sensor, including: last sensor reading, last check-in date/time, data graph (temperature, humidity or contact), and data readings list.
Click on the sensor you want to interact with from the location summary page. Here you can view the sensor data history as text and in a graphical chart for the date range specified in the top right corner. To change the date range of the viewable information, click on the date range box at the top right of the sensor data window.
11
The data graph and data readings list can be changed by selecting a new start and end date. Comments can be added for audits and notes. The data readings list can be exported to CSV or PDF.
Note: If you view data immediately after setting up your system, the chart will not have enough readings to create a graph; you must wait until your sensor has checked in multiple time.
Viewing and Exporting Sensor Data
Exporting to .pdf or .csv file
Clicking on the “Export to PDF” or “Export” tab within the sensor data window allows you to export sensor data to Adobe PDF
(.pdf) or a comma separated value (.csv) file. To export sensor data, you must first select the date range for the data you want to export. Once the date range is selected, determine whether you want sensor data from the selected sensor only, from all sensors in the location or all sensors assigned to the account.
Note: The data will be exported to Adobe PDF (.pdf) or a comma separated value (.csv) file for use in spreadsheet software such as
Microsoft Excel®. Depending on your browser settings you may be prompted for a save location. If not, the file will be downloaded to your browser’s default download directory.
Configuring Sensors
The Configuration window allows you to change the name of the sensor and set the heartbeat (how often the sensor checks-in with the software) – 30 minutes is default/recommended setting.
To set a sensor’s configuration, from the system overview page, select the location where the sensor is located, then click the “Device Management” tab. Click the checkbox next to the Sensor and click “Edit”. When you have finished making

The Notification List Window
Creating a New Notification. Click on the “Add Notification” button.
There are four notification options:
1.
Sensor Reading Notification : Application notifications are sensor specific (temp sensor = trigger alert when temp is above 70°F, etc.). The notification you create will be based on the selected sensor type.
a.
Temperature: Sends a notification any time a sensor exceeds set measurement limits for a designated period of time.
b.
Humidity: Sends a notification any time a sensor exceeds set measurement limits for a designated period of time.
c.
Open/Close: Sends a notification any time a sensor exceeds set measurement limits for a designated period of time.
13
2.
Battery Notification: Allows users to define a battery power percentage level that will trigger an alert from the system, warning them to replace batteries.
3.
Inactivity Notification: Set up “Inactivity” notifications to alert you when your sensors and/or gateways have stopped communicating with the servers. Failure to set up an “Inactivity” notification will result in no email/ text (SMS) being sent should your sensors stop communicating with the servers. This can also be used for inactivity in the gateway.
4.
Advanced Notification: Allows the user to set notifications based on more advanced rules; such as allowing for a delay before sending out an alert.
Setting and Editing Notifications
For the most features (i.e. alarm delay), click “Advanced Notification” and select what sensor type you are creating the alert for: Advance Temperature Range, Advance Humidity or Advance Open/Close .

Mounting Refrigerator/Freezer Sensors
Sensors should be placed on a clean, dry, flat surface. Place them at least 3 ft away from each other and any wireless gateway for clearest transmissions.
Do not place the sensor module inside any refrigerator/freezer cabinet or storage area. This will adversely affect sensor performance.
• Make sure the surface is clean, dry, and flat. Peel off the wax paper from the sticky back of the foam tape and mount the sensor just outside the door of the unit to be monitored.
• Determine optimum placement of the probe (back corner/middle of cooler/freezer ceiling), e.g., don’t place near door or fan or boxes where employees may be stocking/removing product.
Probe Option 1
1.
Run the sensor probe through the door seal.
2.
Use clips or twist ties to secure the probe wire to the interior wall or shelving.
Probe Option 2
1.
If installing through the cooler wall, start by drilling a hole slightly larger than the size of the temperature probe in the seal or wall.
2.
Push the probe and wire through the hole.
3.
Use clips or twist ties to secure the probe wire to the interior wall or shelving.
4.
Once the probe is placed in the desired location, use silicone to seal the hole around the wire.
Mounting Product Simulator Sensors
Sensors should be placed on a clean, dry, flat surface. Place at least 3 ft away from each other and any wireless gateway for clearest transmissions.
1.
Determine where you will install the metal mounting clip in the refrigerator/freezer (approx. 6-7 feet from the floor).
2.
Using the provided screw, install the metal mounting clip.
3.
Insert the Product Simulator Sensor into the mounting clip. The clip should sit in the recessed portion of the sensor.
NOTE: Typical time for the Product Simulator Sensor to reach saturation temperature is approximately 20 minutes.
