Installation

WARNING

For detailed instructions and warnings, see the Voltage Block manual 308–504 or 308–584 and 308–496.

Installing the Hose Ports and Manifold

1. Take the hose connector off of the fluid regulator outlet (A), and discard it. See Fig. 1, Detail A.

2. Remove the required number of knock-outs from the Voltage Block enclosure (B). See Fig. 2.

Remove one knock-out for each additional hose.

NOTE: To ensure thorough flushing of the manifold, remove additional knock-outs starting from the bottom. For example, a two-hose system would use the top and bottom openings, and a three-hose system would use the top opening and the two bottom openings.

3. Install one fluid hose bulkhead (reference numbers

6 through 10) in each newly-created opening in the

Voltage Block enclosure. Fig. 2 shows the proper order for the parts.

NOTE: Leave the hose ferrule nuts (9) loose until the hoses are installed.

4. Thread a nipple (1) into one of the top openings in the tee (2), and thread the other end of the nipple into the fluid regulator outlet (A). Make sure the tee is installed securely, with the opening facing straight down.

NOTE: Use pipe sealant (5) on all pipe threads.

5. Tightly thread a male connector (3) into the opposite tee opening, and thread a nipple (1) into the tee opening that is facing down.

NOTE: Do not tighten any male connector nuts (E) until the hoses are in place.

6. Tightly thread one male connector into the manifold (4) for each hose you are adding, and tightly thread one plug (11) into each manifold opening that you are not using.

NOTE: As explained in Step 2, use the bottom manifold opening first. Fig. 1 shows how the manifold is oriented.

7. Thread the manifold onto the nipple on the bottom of the tee. Make sure the manifold is installed securely, with the male connectors and plugs facing the fluid hose ports. See Fig. 1.

Connecting the Hoses

WARNING

ELECTRIC SHOCK HAZARD

The Multiple Gun Manifold Kit can only be used with automatic guns.

Regulations applying to this type of equipment prohibit the use of multiple hand-held guns.

1. Push the Graco waterborne fluid supply hoses through the fluid hose bulkheads, and insert the ends fully into the male connectors (3) on the tee (2) and the manifold (4).

NOTE: Be careful not to damage the conductive hose layer (G) when you are pushing the fluid supply hoses through the fluid hose bulkheads.

See Fig. 2.

2. Hand-tighten the hose compression nuts (E) securely onto the male connectors on the tee (2) and manifold (4). Do not overtighten.

NOTE: The hose ferrules (C and D) must be oriented as shown in the Fig. 1, Detail A, with the taper of the solid ferrule (C) facing the tee or manifold, and the taper of the split ferrule (D) facing away from the tee or manifold.

3. Tighten the hose ferrule nuts (9) on the fluid hose bulkheads securely. The hose ferrules ground the conductive layer (G) of the waterborne fluid hoses.

See Fig. 2.

4. Connect the other ends of the fluid hoses to the gun fluid inlets. Read the instructions on fluid hose connection in your automatic gun manual (No.

308–496).
