Function Checklist for Customer Returns

To prevent injury and equipment damage, see all Warnings and Cautions in the Operating Instructions.

Fluid Injection Hazard

Fluid under high pressure can be injected through the skin and cause serious injury. To reduce the risk of injury from injection, always follow this Pressure Relief Procedure when you stop spraying and before service:

1.

Turn Power switch OFF.

2.

Place prime tube in waste pail.

3.

Turn Spray/Prime valve to PRIME (pointing down) to relieve pump pressure.

4.

Turn Pressure Control knob to the left (counterclockwise) to minimum pressure.

customer returns are for priming or performance problems due to improper cleaning. Use this checklist to help identify if sprayer is functioning or needs to be sent in for service.

Before you test the sprayer:

1.

Inspect all fittings and hose and gun connections to make sure they are tight.

2.

Remove tip/guard assembly from spray gun.

Never leave water in sprayer. Sprayer must be stored with Pump Armor t

or mineral spirits.

If water coming out of sprayer is dirty, paint got left in the sprayer. Follow Step 1 procedure

(Power Flush t

Sprayer with Water) on back of this page, and let water run until clean.

Performance Problems

Many factors can contribute to performance problems, but most problems are caused by filters that have not been properly cleaned. Customer complaints for performance problems will be low fluid output or poor spray pattern.

Check Filters

A. InstaClean t

filter is clean.

B. Gun filter is clean.

C. Inlet strainer is clean.

E. Screw Power Flush attachment (included with sprayer) onto garden hose, and open Power Flush attachment.

F. Screw garden hose and Power Flush attachment onto suction tube, and turn on garden hose.

G. Plug sprayer into grounded outlet, and turn power switch ON.

H. Turn Pressure Control knob to the right (clockwise) until pump starts.

2. If Sprayer Does Not Prime

A Check if air bubbles are flowing out of submerged end of prime tube. If no bubbles, go to Step 3, Free Stuck Inlet Ball.

B. If bubbles are flowing out of prime tube, sprayer is pumping without priming.

Tighten suction tube nut at pump inlet, and tighten hose clamp that fastens suction tube.

– If bubbles stop and water comes out of prime tube, repeat Step 1, Power Flush Sprayer With Water.

– If still no flow of water from prime tube, go to Step 4, Check Inlet Valve Ball.

3. Free Stuck Inlet Ball (left dirty or in water)

Tap gently on inlet valve with wrench while pump is running.

This might loosen stuck inlet valve ball.

4. Check Inlet Valve Ball

A. Remove suction assembly and inlet valve from pump inlet.

B. Make sure ball in inlet valve body is loose. If ball is stuck on seat, tap it loose and thoroughly clean ball and seat. Reassemble valve and suction assembly, and repeat Step 1, Power Flush Sprayer With Water.

5. If Sprayer Still Does Not Prime

If sprayer does not prime after all of the above procedures, send it to a Graco/M
