OPERATION
Strain or filter the paintt o remove coarse particles and
sediment, then checkthe viscosity of your paint. Refer
t o chart on page 8 for proper viscosity.
Normal Spray Pattern
Proper adjustment will give a spray pattern
shaped like this.
Install the air cap.
See Troubleshooting Chart on page 4 for thecause and
The direction of the spray pattern is controlled by the solution of improper spray patterns.
position of theair cap. The horns of theair cap should
be the opposite direction (horizontal or vertical1 of the Cleaning

CAUTION
loosen and turn the
air cap to thedesired position and
hand tighten theair cap securely.
with.the fluid being sprayed and the wetted parts
of the gun toensure thorough flushing andt o
Adjusting The Spray Pattern
To clean the gun, flushwith a compatible solvent until
all traces of paint are removed from the gunpassages.
To minimize overspray, adjust the pattern for each part Wipe the outside of the gun clean with a solvent
being coated.
dampened cloth.
For maximum flow, leave the fluid adjusting knob in the
full open position.
CAUTION
posure to solvent damages the packings. Never
use metal instrumentst o clean holesin the air cap
or fluid nozzle to avoid scratches which can distort
shape,
The air adjusting screw (27) controls the pattern
the fluid adjusting screw(181 controls the volume of
fluid output, and the atomizing
air regulator controls the
degree of atomization.
To aaust the pattern, turn theair adjusting screw (27)
out (counterclockwise)t o make the spray pattern wider
and flat, or in (clockwise) t o decrease t o a round pattern.
If the air cap needs cleaning, removeit from the gun,
soak in solvent and scrub with fine bristled brush. To
clean out holes in the air cap, use a toothpick or other
soft implement t o avoid damaging criticalsurfaces.
WARNING
To aaust the volume of fluidoutput for pressure feed,
turn the fluid adjusting screw(18) out all of the way
(counterclockwise). Then adjust the
air pressure atthe
fluid supply until the desired fluid flow
is obtained. For
the final adjustment, turn the fluid adjusting valve in
(clockwise1to reduce the volumeof fluid output and obtain the desired results.
NOTE:
If the fluid adjusting valve is turned
in all the
way, the gun will emit only
air.
Test spray a pattern. Adjust
the air pressureto the gun
until proper atomizationis achieved.
NOTE: .Always use the lowest possible atomizing
air
pressure to obtain the desired results.

Pressure Relief Procedure
To reduce the risk of serious bodily injury, including splashingin the eyes or on the skin, or injury from moving parts, always follow this procedure before checking or servicing any part of
the spray system, before installing, cleaning or
changing fluid nozzles, and whenever you stop
spraying.
1. Turn off the air and fluid supply to the
gun.
2. Trigger the gun into a grounded metalwaste
container to relieve air and fluid Dressure.

Maintenance
Lubricate the exposed portion of the fluid

daily; petroleum jelly works well.
For short term operations, patternsize may be reduced
by turning the air and fluid adjusting screws in
