Smoke Control Installation Datasheet

The ENCL-UC-ww-hh-dd-U8 enclosure is UL Listed

(UL864) for application in a TAC Smoke Control System.

This data sheet provides information, instructions and restrictions pertaining to the proper application of this specific product in a smoke control system. This data sheet takes precedence over other general product installation and application information for the ENCL-UC series enclosures and must be used in conjunction with the “Xenta - Smoke Control Systems Manual” (0-004-

7897-1). The manual provides a system level view of the smoke control application and provides additional information regarding the various products that can be interconnected to form a system.

General Application

Model ENCL-UC is a generic universal sheet metal enclosure with a width, height and depth customized for the specific unitary control application (such as the enclosure mounted on the side of a VAV box which houses the VAV controls).

The TAC ENCL-UC series enclosures are directed toward the Unitary Controls applications. In these zone control applications, the Xenta 100 family of controllers is typically applied to the control of the HVAC unitary zone equipment (VAV Box, Fan Coil Unit, etc.). The

ENCL-UC series enclosure provides a UL864 compliant housing for these local zone controls.

The ENCL-UC enclosure model designation is defined to support a flexible customized size definition as required for accommodating the wide variety of HVAC equipment on which the controls enclosure is typically mounted.

These enclosures are custom constructed in accordance with TAC approved mechanical detail drawings. The size of the enclosure is specified by the ww (width), hh

The ENCL-UC enclosure provides a ½” (min) flange along two opposing sides for panel strength and/or fastening of the front cover. The flange is provided along the sides with the longest dimension (ww or hh), if not provided on all four sides.

The enclosure provides a face cover plate that attaches with a minimum of two screws. The enclosure base and cover are constructed from steel with a minimum thickness that is compliant with Table 7.2 of the UL864 standard.
