The indication symbols mean the following: This symbol means “if you mishandle the instrument, occurrence of ! Danger ! imminent danger causing death or a serious injury is anticipated.” This symbol means “if you mishandle the instrument, the possibility of warning ! Caution causing death or a serious injury is anticipated.” The symbol means “if you mishandle the instrument, the possibility of causing a moderate or light injury, or damage to property, is anticipated.” ! Danger Prevention of electric shock by high voltage part 1. When you check the internal portion for maintenance or inspection, be sure to turn the power switch off because high voltage is used in some parts. 2. At the inspection, wash away salt on your hands, or when work clothes, shoes, or the like is wet, change it with dried one. 3. In the unlikely event that you find a person struck by electricity, if you directly touch the person, you may be also in danger of receiving an electric shock. Therefore, inform everybody of it without panic in a loud voice and turn the power switch off, or get the person off the spot using a plate or the like. Then bring the person back to life by artificial respiration or general method. v ! Warning Warning at the check of the ship bottom part or the instrument When you perform the checking at the ship bottom part, be sure to wear a helmet and safety shoes, act in pairs and create a system so as to communicate with each other at any time. ! Avoid using the instrument at a location where the instrument directly receives spindrift or at a humid location. vi Safety of the hoist unit • Ship speed resistance When using the hoisting device, be sure not to exceed the following ship speed resistance of the hoisting device. When used in excess of the ship speed resistance, the hoisting device may be damaged and cause an accident. Hoisting operation Ascent 15 knots or less Descent 15 knots or less ship speed resistance 16 knots • Change electrolytic corrosion-preventing zinc plates annually. Be sure to perform electrolytic corrosion prevention. If electrolytic corrosion prevention is not performed, the transducer may fall accidentally or there may be an influx of seawater into a dome, in the worst case. For the transducer The transducer of this sonar system is filled with castor oil inside. This castor oil may steep from the transducer cable due to outside temperature change, but it does not affect the performance. For preventing damage at sea When the transducer or the hoisting device is damaged at sea, the sonar system cannot be used, accordingly, the operation or safe navigation is sometimes hindered. Furthermore, it takes a large amount of time and cost to exchange and repair the transducer or the hoisting device. In order to prevent these accidents from occurring, store the transducer by performing the following operations when conditions are as described below. 1. Condition 1) Sea condition with many float and drift 2) The case of getting out of an encircling net by a lightship of round haul netter fleet 3) A shallow place where ropes or wires are set up under seas 4) During an anchorage of a ship 2. Transducer storage operation 1) Press the ascent key of the hoisting device of the controller and store the transducer. 2) During ascending, an arrowhead “” is indicated in upper right of the screen and the display bar of the hoisting amount is gradually reduced. 3) When the transducer is stored and the hoisting device goes up to the upper limit, the upper limit message is displayed and the hoisting device stops. vii On the battery·electric cell exchange In this instrument, a battery is used to have clock function. Perform exchange of a battery periodically. Be sure to change any expired batteries. If you leave a battery unchanged, there is a risk of smoking and ignition. <Target of exchange> As to a battery, the target life is set to about two years as a standard. When the battery is used under a high temperature, the life becomes shorter. <Exchange method> As to the exchange of a battery, make contact with our service staff. Batteries are valuable and recyclable resources. In changing batteries and used product disposal, cooperate in recycling. viii Fan Motor Replacement This system is designed to prevent internal temperature increase in the processor, receiver and transmitter by installing fan motors in them. If those fan motors are not working, an increase in the internal temperature of those devices may cause their malfunction. The outlets of the fans, therefore, should be inspected regularly to check that the fan motors are working properly. Although the service life of the fan motors in general is 50,000 hours, it varies depending on the use environment. For this reason, fan motors must be replaced periodically. <How to Replace> For replacement of the motor fans, please contact our service staff. ix For the safety operation! How to use the emergency stop Power ON key Power OFF key If a problem occurs, execute the emergency stop. Even if the hoist unit is ascending, power supply is shut off by executing the emergency stop. To execute the emergency stop, press the power ON key and the power OFF key the same time. Caution When executing the emergency stop, the whole system power supply is shut off. Caution Take care not to press these keys together, during normal operations. x at INTRODUCTION Thank you very much for purchasing our color scanning sonar. There is an abnormality in the installation of the left and right repeaters, an inability to read data, or some other fault. The left and right wires of the repeaters are connected in reverse. The rotating operation is abnormal. The tilting operation is abnormal. 9-7 9. 2. 2. Description of Relay Box Operation (MANU operation) (a) During system maintenance, move the hoist up and down using the manual up-down switch. When the switch is held down, the hoist moves, and when the switch is released, the hoist stops. Note: Before carrying out this work, set the AUTO/MANU toggle switch to MANU. (b) During system maintenance, if the AUTO/MANU toggle switch is set to MANU, the abovementioned up-down switch will be in an operable status. After performing maintenance and inspection work, be sure to set the toggle switch to AUTO. When the switch is at the AUTO side, it is possible to operate the system from the indicator. 9. 2. 3. Description of Operation of the Emergency Shutdown Button (on the side of the relay box) The emergency shutdown button is pressed during a hoisting operation in order to prevent danger. Note: If the emergency shutdown button is pressed during an AUTO operation, the hoisting operation will stop. To resume operation, press the UP or DOWN switch on the indicator once again. If the emergency shutdown button is pressed during a MANU operation while the UP or DOWN button remains pressed, the hoist will remain stopped as long as the switch is pressed, but will continue moving as soon as the switch is released, so be careful. 9. 2. 4. Automatic Lifting This instrument contains an automatic lifting circuit for the transducer. When the transducer is at the lower limit, or even in an intermediate position, if the OFF key of the controllers pressed, the hoist will automatically rise, and after the transducer becomes housed in the fixed position, the power will be cut off. For safety’s sake, when carrying out maintenance, for example, be sure to first set the AUTO-MANU toggle switch to MANU so as to cancel automatic hoisting, and then carry out work on the instrument. 9-8 9. 3. Outline of Operation of Manual Handle 1. Remove the 4 fixing screws of the motor shaft cover, then remove the motor shaft cover from the motor cover. (Take care not to lose the motor shaft cover and the screws.) 2. Remove the wing nut and remove the manual handle fixed to the column, then set the manual handle on the motor, as shown in the figure. (Screw the removed wing nut onto the bolt.) 3. Remove the two diagonally opposite brake slackening bolts, remove the spacer and seal washer, and then once again screw in the bolts using a hex key so that the brake is released. (Note 1) When doing this, take care not to tighten the brake slackening bolts to an excessively degree. (While checking to see if the brake is released, turn the brake slackening bolts.) 4. Turning the manual handle to the right or left causes the hoist to ascend or descend. Turn the handle in the desired direction to the target position. 5. Upon completion of the above work, once again return the various parts to their original positions. For safety’s sake, re-install the spacer and seal washer removed in step 3, in their original positions. (Turn the handle slightly and confirm that the brake is functioning.) 6. Remove the manual handle from the motor shaft, and fix it to the bolt on the column using the wing nut. 7. Finally, fix the motor shaft cover to the motor cover. When doing this, pass the tab at the front edge of the motor shaft cover through the hole in the motor cover, and fix it so that the microswitch at the rear operates without fail. (Note 2) Note 1. There are two bolts in symmetrical locations. Turn both of them You can turn the bolts using the hex key in the toolbox for maintenance parts. 1. Motor shaft cover 2. Motor cover 3. Maintaining and Cleaning the Hoist Unit (1) Tightening the waterproof packing If water leakage occurs at the gland of the hoist unit, uniformly tighten the four M12 gland retaining bolts shown in 9. of section 7.1. (2) Lubricating the hoist unit Mechanical part of the hoist unit Lubricate the parts of the hoist indicated by circles in the figure at left, once a month. When applying grease, first wipe away the dirty grease. If lubrication was not carried out for a long period, apply an additional amount of grease to prevent rusting. (3) 防錆亜鉛板交換について(上架時作業) 1. Outline of Connecting the 3-phase Hoisting Power Supply [Outline] The hoist unit has a reverse phase connection prevention relay. Consequently, unless all phases (R, S, T) of the 3-phase power supply are connected correctly, the hoist motor will not operate. (This is to prevent reverse phase connection.) Check whether it is correct connection by the following procedures. a) b) Carry out all wiring according to the wiring diagram. (Do not supply power at this stage.) Move the hoist to a point mid-way along its stroke, according to “Outline of Operation of Manual Handle.” c) Set the MANU/AUTO toggle switch in the relay box to “MANU.” d) Switch ON the power. e) Perform a hoisting operation by means of the MANU switch (UP, DOWN) on the relay box. First, raise the hoist about 10 cm from the condition of b) (Continue to press the UP switch) while simultaneously operating the upper limit switch by hand, and confirm that the hoist stops at the upper limit. Likewise, carry out a lowering operation while simultaneously operating the lower limit switch at the lower limit, and confirm that the hoist stops at the lower limit. If operation of the hoist is normal, the three phases are wired correctly. f) In step e), if the hoist does not move up or down when the UP and DOWN switches are pressed, check the 3-phase power supply. (Swap over any two wires of the three phases, and then carry out step e) once again.) h) Once the above work has been completed, raise the hoist to the upper limit, and set the MANU and AUTO toggle switches to AUTO. [Danger] The thrust propulsion force for the hoist part is approx. 450 kg (calculated value). Also, the hoist is installed in a confined space, so be very careful when carrying out work on it. 9-11 9. 6. Hoist Unit Troubleshooting Check List (1) Set the AUTO/MANU switch inside the relay box of the hoist unit to MANU. Note: Make a note concerning the operation of the hoist unit in a standalone condition (manual mode). If there is no problem concerning manual operation, and the switch is operated from the processor (the AUTO/MANU switch is set to AUTO), check the cable (CB560) and the processor. (2) Hoisting operation Condition A) The host unit does not move when the UP or DOWN switch is pressed. B) The electromagnetic switch functions but the hoist unit does not move. C) The hoist unit moves slightly (or does not move), and the thermal relay operates. Check contents 1. Is power being supplied? Single phase 100 VAC: Check the LEDs on the board. 3-phase 220 VAC: Check at the terminal block. 2.Does the hoisting DC relay on the board function. 3. Check the 3-phase 220VAC wiring. 4. Does the limit switch on the manual handle box function (go ON)? 5.Does the thermal relay operate? 6.Is the upper limit (or lower limit) limit switch malfunctioning? (Does it make a noise when pressed by hand?) 1. Is the motor wiring (external wiring) broken? 2. Is the surface temperature of the motor low enough to touch the motor by hand (50C or less)? 1. Does the set value of the thermal relay match the motor standard? (Rated current on the nameplate of the motor) Note: Do not set the current to a value higher than the rated current of the motor. This may result in burnout of the motor. 2. Is there rust in the drive section (Sprocket, chain, feed screw), or is there marked bending of these parts? Does the motor operate when it is in a standalone condition (with the chain removed)? 3. Does the hoist operate by means of the manual handle (when the boat is moored)? Moves but is very sluggish→ Does not move at all→ 9-12 Remedy, other items Switch ON the power. Swap over any two wires. Fixed screw adjustment Refer to item C). Adjust the limit switch. If the motor is too hot to touch, refer to item C). Slightly slacken the gland, and then move it once again. It is conceivable that the pipe may be bent (due to a marine accident). Condition Check contents Remedy, other items D) Overuns the limit. 1. Is the motor brake normal? (Is it in a released condition?) Refer to “Outline of Operating the Manual Handle.” 2. Does the upper limit (or lower limit) switch Adjust the limit switch. operate correctly? (Does it run idle?) E) The indication of 1. Is the rotary switch set correctly? the hoisting distance suddenly changes during operation. (Or it displays the same value: “00” or “7F” mid way) F) The display of the 1. Is the magnet at the top of the feed screw hoisting distance does correctly installed? not change. 2. Is the clearance between the magnet at the top of the feed screw and the reed switch too wide? (3) Refer to sensor adjustment. (3) Sensor Adjustment The sensor is adjusted prior to shipment from the factory. If further adjustment is necessary, carry it out as follows. 3-1) Hoist Limit Switches (Model: HL-5000: One upper and lower limit switch) 1. Operation These switches control the hoist motor. When the Up/Down pipe is ascending, the upper limit switch operates, causing the hoist to stop. Likewise, when the Up/Down pipe is descending, the lower limit switch operates, causing the hoist to stop. 2. Mounting position One upper and lower switch on the side of the column 3. Adjustment method By changing the position of the tap on the mounting plate of the limit switch, the upper limit mounting position can be changed by up to 20 mm, and the lower limit mounting position by up to 40 mm (the pitch is 20 mm). 3-2) Hoisting Distance Detection Reed Switches (Model: GLS-S1: two) 1. Operation The magnet mounted on the hoisting feed screw causes the reed switch to go ON/OFF for each rotation. The resulting pulses are measured, and the number of rotations of the speed of the feed screw is calculated, enabling the hoisting distance to be calculated. Because two reed switches are used, the direction of rotation (in other words, whether the hoist is ascending or descending) is detected. 2. Mounting position Upper part of rear of column 3. Adjustment method Basically, there is almost no need to carry out adjustment. However, if adjustment becomes necessary, it is possible to adjust the distance from the magnet of the feed screw by inserting washers, or the like, between the mounting fitting and also between the fitting and the column. 9-13 9. 7. Precautions Concerning the Protrusion of the Hoist Unit into Equipment at the Bottom of the Boat 9. 7. 1. Adjusting the Clearance Between the Pressure Receiving Ring and the Skirt The optimum clearance (Fig. 1) at the above locations is between 2 and 3 mm. Note that if the clearance at these locations is 5 mm or more, there may also be cases in which trouble occurs due to vibration when the boat is moving, and also due to hoisting trouble. This clearance will change due to strain in the skirt during local manufacture, and also when the skirt is being welded. For this reason, be very careful of the following points during manufacture. 1-1) Points to observe during local manufacture of the skirt ・ Use welded steel plate for marine use as the raw material of the skirt. ・ Be sure to anneal the skirt during manufacture. ・ The eccentricity of the skirt must be no more than 2 mm, and the ID tolerance must be within 1.5 mm. 1-2) ・ Welding the skirt to the bottom of the boat The diameter of the hole for installing the skirt on the bottom of the boat must be the skirt OD plus no more than 5 mm. ・ The strain generated when the skirt is welded to the bottom of the boat must be within about 2 mm. 1-3) Adjusting the clearance between the pressure receiving ring and the skirt After welding the skirt, carry out adjustment using the following procedure. 1. Clean the flange of the skirt, then pass the packing through the bolt hole and install it. Next, place the mounting hoist unit on the skirt, and temporarily fix it with three or four bolts. 2. Using manual or automatic operation, lower the host to the lower limit. 3. Measure the clearance between the outside part of the bottom of the boat and each of three receiving rings (parts made of plastic), and verify that it is between 2 and 5 mm. 4. If the clearance is defective, raise the hoist unit to the upper limit, remove the temporarily inserted bolts, raise the hoist unit, and then perform adjustment of the clearance by insert or removing spacers (4037943) at the pressure receiving ring part. 5. Once again, lower the hoist unit, and measure the clearance. If the clearance is satisfactory, coat the flange packing with packing material, and tighten the flange to the correct torque. 9-14 9. 7. 2. ・ Checking the Lifting and Lowering Operations (Be sure to do this after adjusting the clearance between the pressure receiving ring and the skirt) Confirm that the lifting and lowering operations do not become sluggish in either the manual or auto mode. ・ With the transducer protruding into the bottom of the boat, confirm that when it is pushed horizontally by hand, the degree of looseness is no more than about 5 mm. Pressure receiving ring as seen in the A – A’ arrow direction Fig.-1 3 sliding plates (synthetic resin) Spacer (4037943) 398 (dimension at the time of shipment) Clearance between the pressure receiving ring and the skirt 9-15 9-16 Chapter 10 Mouse Trackball The processor of this system is equipped with the connector for a mouse trackball sold on the market.
