Related Topic: Create an External DNS Host Purchase a new domain from a domain registrar such as GoDaddy® or Network Solutions®, e.g. yourportalwebsite.com. The value after the final period (such as .com or .academy) is called a top level domain (TLD). Tigerpaw accepts TLDs up to 50 characters. Ask the provider or search the IIS Manager Help files for instructions to request a certificate. If you have a wildcard certificate, you do not need a separate SSL certificate for the Customer Web Portal. IMPORTANT: A self-signed certificate is not valid for this purpose. Save the certificate file on the web server or a shared location. Ask the provider for instructions to install the certificate. For additional information, go to http://support.godaddy.com/help/article/5346/installing-an-ssl-serverinstructions. If the web server is on a network with a firewall or router, create firewall rules and/or port forwarding rules to open the port you will use for SSL.
