NOTE: • Visit Cree Lighting’s website for the guide: https://cree.widen.net/s/pplfkqkrwt/ smartcastr-wireless-deployment-guide NOTE: SmartCast luminaires must be installed on unswitched AC power. Constant power is required to maintain all luminaires on the SmartCast network. If wall control or manual dimming is required, a SmartCast wall control dimmer must be used for manual on, off, and dimming. NOTE: Before beginning fixture installation or OneButton Setup, it is important to consider the use of spaces and what luminaires will be grouped together. Cree Lighting recommends turning on AC power to luminaires that should be grouped together and then initiating the OneButton Setup while the remaining luminaires are switched off of AC power. It is recommended to commission one group first and then turn AC power on to the second group and continue until all luminaries are commissioned. NOTE: Continuous rows with SmartCast ship with a dedicated sensor per fixture except for corners. Corners ship with accessible dimming leads that need to be wired into the adjacent luminaire so that the corner luminaire is controlled by the sensor of the adjacent runner. Locate dimming leads between adjacent fixture driver and sensor. Connect corner dim leads into adjacent dimming leads. RESET RF MODULE NOTE: For the Blue Status LED location see Figure 8. STEP 2: Release for 1 sec. STEP 3: Press/Hold RESET button for 0.5 sec. Light will turn off for a few seconds then go to full bright and the Blue Status LED should begin a 2 blink sequence. Figure 8. TROUBLESHOOTING: Out of the box, if the light does not turn on when power is applied: • • • • • Check Wiring with power off If wired correctly, check to see if Blue Status LED blinking on the RF Module. If Blue Status LED is blinking, then perform a RESET (See RESET RF MODULE section). If Blue Status LED is on solid or off, call Cree Lighting Customer Service. If you have done a RESET, and the light is still off, call Cree Lighting Customer Service. If light is unresponsive, use Cree Lighting Configuration Tool to verify configuration. After installing the product, unwrap and install the lens. The lens must be installed with the texture side of the lens facing the ground. The lens is installed by angling into the reflector and then laid to rest on the reflector ledges. The lens is held in place by gravity. SECTION 6: EMERGENCY DRIVER CHECK NOTE: For short-term testing of the emergency function, the battery must be charged for at least one hour. The emergency driver must be charged for at least 24 hours before conducting a long-term test. STEP 1: When AC power is applied, the charging indicator light is illuminated, indicating the battery is being charged. When power fails, the emergency driver automatically switches to emergency power, operating the LED array. When AC power is restored, the emergency driver returns to the charging mode. STEP 2: Although no routine maintenance is required to keep the emergency driver functional, it should be checked periodically to ensure that it is working. The following schedule is recommended: • Visually inspect the charging indicator light monthly. It should be illuminated. • Test the emergency operation of the fixture at 30-day intervals for a minimum of 30 seconds. When the test switch is depressed, the LED array should operate. • Conduct a 90-minute discharge test once a year. The LED array should operate for at least 90 minutes. If the luminaire fails any of these checks, consult service personnel.
