Set lens and LED Reflector tray aside. See Figure 1. STEP 1: Use the luminaire as a template to locate the mounting holes by centering luminaire over recessed switch box. Keep the switch box square to and on center lengthwise, mark each mounting anchors hole location, See Figure 2. Ensure that all mounting points are on the same center line as the switch box installed. Drill appropriate holes for mounting surface and fasteners to be used. Securely attach housing to ceiling: See Figure 1. Remove lens and LED/reflector tray and set aside in order of run placement for reinstalling later. To remove lens, carefully slide a plastic card or putty knife between the lens and extrusion towards the end of the luminaire. Using the plastic card or putty knife, push the lens inward until the lens comes free. See Figure 1 and 2. STEP 2: After removing the lens, remove the Phillips head reflector screws, remove the LED Reflector Tray, and disconnect the LED 2 of 7 STEP 3: STEP 4: Using the 1.5” diameter hole located in the center of the luminaire, route the electrical leads out into customer supplied junction box and make electrical connections per Section 3 “Electrical Connections”. STEP 5: Reconnect LED harness. Replace LED trays and lens that was removed in Step 1 & 2 above, ensure that no wires are pinched. NOTE: Pre-drilled diameter 5/8" mounting anchor holes are located 2.13" from the end of each luminaire. See Figure 3 on the next page. CAUTION: Do not attempt to assemble luminaire rows on the ground and then lift into position. This may create stress at the connection points and may result in damage and/or mechanical failure. CAUTION: Do not connect power in a run until all of run is installed, wire harnesses connected, and luminaire joints completed. STEP 1: From center line of lengthwise mounted switch box(es), snap a lengthwise chalk line on ceiling to the right of Junction box approximately the full length of the row to be installed. STEP 2: Remove lens and upper LED/reflector tray and set aside in order of run placement for reinstalling later. To remove lens, carefully slide a plastic card or putty knife between the lens and extrusion towards the end of the luminaire. Using the plastic card or putty knife, push the 4 of 7 lens inward until the lens come free. After removing the lens, remove the Philips head reflector screws, remove the LED Reflector Tray, and disconnect the LED harness. Set lens and LED Reflector tray aside. See Figure 1 and 2. STEP 3: Locate and install End Cap Kits. In order to install the end cap on the male end of the luminaire, replace the male joiner bracket with the female joiner bracket and remove the alignment pins. See Figure 4 and 6. STEP 4: Attach the first luminaire Right-Hand End of the Row onto the ceiling per Figure 6. Tighten mounting screws on luminaire snug as not to allow luminaire to move when being aligned with the next luminaire in the row. STEP 5: Position second luminaire in row such that it aligns with joint end (male end) of first luminaire. Attach using customer supplied hardware to structure above. Connect the second luminaire to the first luminaire as shown in Figure 5 and 6. Plug wire harness together and push excess wire into luminaire wiring chamber, ensure that wires are not pinched. STEP 6: Push luminaires tightly together while making sure the alignment pins slide into the interior tracks of each luminaire and span the luminaire joint. Secure joint by tightening supplied keps locknuts on threaded studs of male joiner bracket. Figure 5 and 6. STEP 7: Continue to install and assemble row following steps 1-6 above. Locate and install Junction box to be centered on the End unit (Left-Hand End of Run) luminaire, make electrical connections per Section 5 “Electrical Connections”. STEP 7: Replace LED trays and lens that was removed in Step 1 above, ensure that no wires are pinched. NOTE: • https://cree.widen.net/s/pplfkqkrwt/smartcastr-wirelessdeployment-guide NOTE: SmartCast luminaires must be installed on unswitched AC power. Constant power is required to maintain all luminaires on the SmartCast network. If wall control or manual dimming is required, a SmartCast wall control dimmer must be used for manual on, off, and dimming. NOTE: Before beginning fixture installation or OneButton Setup, it is important to consider the use of spaces and what luminaires will be grouped together. Cree Lighting recommends turning on AC power to luminaires that should be grouped together and then initiating the OneButton Setup while the remaining luminaires are switched off of AC power. It is recommended to commission one group first and then turn AC power on to the second group and continue until all luminaries are commissioned. NOTE: Continuous rows with SmartCast ship with a dedicated sensor per fixture except for corners. Corners ship with accessible dimming leads that need to be wired into the adjacent luminaire so that the corner luminaire is controlled by the sensor of the adjacent runner. Locate dimming leads between adjacent fixture driver and sensor. Connect corner dim leads into adjacent dimming leads. TROUBLESHOOTING: Out of the box, if the light does not turn on when power is applied: • • • • • Check Wiring with power off If wired correctly, check to see if Blue Status LED blinking on the RF Module. If Blue Status LED is blinking, then perform a RESET (See RESET RF MODULE section). If Blue Status LED is on solid or off, call Cree Lighting Customer Service. If you have done a RESET, and the light is still off, call Cree Lighting Customer Service. If light is unresponsive, use Cree Lighting Configuration Tool to verify configuration. SECTION 4: STYLLUS WITH LUTRON VIVE RF SENSOR OPTION NOTE: Fixtures ordered with Vive are provided with a factory installed, integrated Lutron Vive wireless fixture control with occupancy and daylight sensor. NOTE: For set-up, programming, and troubleshooting with a Vive system, please refer to the installation instructions included with the Vive hub or at www.lutron.com DEFAULT FUNCTIONALITY FIXTURE CONTROL SETTINGS: • Auto On level: DFCSJ-OEM-OCC only RESET RF MODULE • Varies with ambient light level when occupancy is triggered ( e.g., 100% for a dark room, 10% for a bright room). NOTE: For the Blue Status LED location see Figure 8. • Time-out period: 15 minutes STEP 1: Actuate RESET button through the access hole using a paper clip. Push and hold until Blue Status LED, begins blinking rapidly (approximately 6-7 seconds). See Figure 8. STEP 2: Release for 1 sec. STEP 3: Press/Hold RESET button for 0.5 sec. Light will turn off for a few seconds then go to full bright and the Blue Status LED should begin a 2 blink sequence. Figure 8. 6 of 7 SECTION 5: STYLLUS WITH WALL WASH OPTIC OPTION STEP 1: Wall Wash optic must be oriented so the LEDs are facing the wall. The wall wash optic was designed for optimal performance when mounted 24” from the wall. See Figure 9. STEP 2: The Wall Wash lens is shipped already removed from the reflector. After installing the product, unwrap and install the lens. The lens must be installed with the texture side of the lens facing the ground. The lens is installed by angling into the reflector and then laid to rest on the reflector ledges. The lens is held in place by gravity.
