Swegon GOLD Instructions
Swegon Gold, a versatile and efficient air handling unit, offers precise control over indoor climate. With its dehumidification function, it effectively manages humidity levels, preventing condensation and creating a comfortable indoor environment. Ideal for spaces requiring low moisture content, such as museums, archives, or production facilities, it ensures optimal conditions for sensitive items or processes.

GB.DEHUM.071201 GOLD Functional Guide, Dehumidification 1. General 2. Material Specification The Dehumidification function is intended for use when the GOLD unit ventilates rooms where it is desirable to avoid high moisture content in the air. Air handling unit All types of GOLD Humidity/temp. sensor for supply air duct TBLZ-1-31-1 The function requires that you supplement the GOLD unit with an air cooler and an air heater in the supply air duct. The air cooler should be installed upstream of the air heater viewed in the direction of air flow. Other equipment required: Air cooler and air heater in the supply air duct. The air cooler should be installed upstream of the air heater viewed in the direction of air flow. The function can be advantageous when combined with Dew Point Regulation. See the Functional Guide. Function The function controls the operation of pertinent components to keep the relative humidity, near the combined humidity and temperature sensor in the supply air duct, below a limit value . The limit value can be preset in the hand-held terminal. Thanks to the effects of condensate drainage and the subsequent rise in supply air temperature, the relative humidity in the supply air decreases. The function enables the air cooler and air heater to operate at the same time, which is not possible during normal operation. On the basis of the preset setpoints for supply air temperature and humidity, the control system calculates the dew point setpoint (the temperature at which the moisture in the air condensates). In response to readings received from the combined humidity and temperature sensor, the controller measures the current dew point. Important! Satisfactory operation is conditional on the use of an air cooler that generates sufficiently high cooling capacity to provide adequately low air temperature. This guarantees the right degree of condensate precipitation. If this condition is not met, the use of this function will only waste energy and will not have any dehumidifying effect. The controller activates the air cooler if the current dew point is higher than the setpoint. The moisture in the air then condenses on the cold surfaces of the air cooler, drips into a tray and runs out through the drainage pipework of the air cooler. The function also presupposes that ERS regulation or supply air temperature regulation is selected. If Extract Air Temperature Regulation is selected, “heating after condensation” will only heat the air to the preset min. permissible supply air temperature and this will render dehumidification ineffective. This causes a decrease in supply air temperature. When this occurs, the controller activates the air heater. The output from the air heater increases the supply air temperature to the level required. Connect the humidity and temperature sensor’s modular cable to an optional modular connection, marked Internal EIA-485, on the control unit of the GOLD unit. If the sensor cable is not long enough, use a TBLZ-1-05-3 extension cable(accessory). 5. To Enter Settings. For basic facts on how to use the hand-held micro terminal, see the Operation and Maintenance Instructions for the GOLD unit. The dehumidification function must be manually activated, under INSTALLATION – FUNCTIONS – HUMIDITY in the hand-held terminal. If the readings are reasonable, then the wiring has been connected correctly. If the functions are activated but the accessories have not been connected correctly, an alarm will be initiated.
