Frequently asked questions

Prism supports three communication methods: Direct Serial Port Connection, Remote Modem Connection, and TCP/IP Network Communications. It also has a DEMO MODE for testing purposes.

To access the Job-Site List screen, you must be Off Line and then select the Job-Site List button located to the right of the Job-Site Description box.

The Search For Units function helps Prism identify the installed units and their types on your communications loop. This should be done initially and any time a new controller is added or removed.

You can manually add or delete a unit through the Installed Unit Summary screen. You can also change controller descriptions with a 20-character description.

The Auto Log function enables Prism to automatically poll units for their internal trend log data at predefined times. This allows you to save important trend log data to disk for later review. Auto Logging is not performed unless at least one time box is checked. To set it up, select the Auto Log Polling Times menu item under the Setup Menu and choose the desired times to poll and select the units to include in the process.
