Summary
In the IDENTIKEY Authentication Server Linux Installation Guide chapter 10.13 “Set
Up User Self Management and OTP Request Website” is explained how to do this setup for a RedHat server and for an UBUNTU server.
This document explains the installation for a SLES12.1 server.
Details.
Basically the steps for installing the User Self Management and OTP Request Website are the same as for the RedHat server:
Verify the apache webserver is installed on the system.
Configure the apache webserver so that the user can access the pages and the
CGI (as explained in the book)
Configure the CGI settings
The only thing that is different is the way you need to configure apache to get it working. As apache is opensource software you can always find help on the internet.
For SLES12.1 you would get a 403 error “access denied” when clicking on the GO button to execute e.g. a login command.
Looking into /var/log/apache2/error_log you can see the error produced by apache.
In this case: "client denied by server configuration" error.
This can be solved by commenting out the following lines in the httpd.conf file
(put a # in front of the line to comment it out):
# forbid access to the entire filesystem by default
#<Directory />
# Options None
# AllowOverride None
# Order deny,allow
# Deny from all
#</Directory>

As the integration and settings of apache may differ in different distributions or versions of one distribution, this solution may not be working and additional troubleshooting may be needed.
In that case, look for the errors in the log files of apache (like the
/var/log/apache2/error_log file)
Don’t forget to configure the CGI. (running usercgicfg in the chroot environment)
