Frequently asked questions

Make sure that the fuse is turned on. This is the first check recommended in the troubleshooting section of the manual.

A buzzing sound is not a defect. It stops by itself as the heat increases.

Discolouring is caused by burnt, not removed food remains, not by a change in the material. It does not affect the function or the durability of the ceramic hob.

Switch the hob off immediately, disconnect the appliance from the mains and inform the service department. A defective surface allows overboiling food to penetrate and contact with live parts.

Turn the corresponding control knob past position 10 to the final stop; it springs back automatically to position 10 and the second circle is switched on. The temperature can then be adjusted by turning the knob back to the desired setting, and setting it to 0 turns the zone off.

Do not switch off the affected cooking zone. Scrape the remains off immediately with a scraper while the surface is still hot (protect your hands), then switch the zone off and clean it with a special detergent after it has cooled down.

Use pans with a flat, solid base without rough edges and a diameter slightly larger than the cooking zone, ideally pans specially tested for ceramic hobs. Pans with aluminium or copper bottoms are unsuitable because they can cause permanent stains.
