Dear Customer,
Thank you for choosing Dualvap, PiC Indolor’s
new hot steam humidifier designed and
manufactured with the latest technology to
meet the strictest safety standards.
Dualvap is an innovative humidifier with a dual
function: it produces both hot steam and warm
vapour. When the internal fan is activated, the
appliance emits warm vapour, providing all the
benefits of hot steam humidification – clean,
germ-free steam in the heating chamber - but
with an output temperature of around 55°C.
Dualvap uses vaporiser technology to guarantee
the utmost safety: the water has a passive
role, as it is not a conductor.
The Dualvap humidifier enables the right
humidity level to be obtained in heated or airconditioned areas, avoiding the formation of
harmful dry air. In fact, the right humidity helps
maintain the natural protective function of the
nasal and respiratory mucosa, providing greater
defence against bacteria and pollutants.
The Dualvap humidifier releases a continuous
flow of clean vapour into the environment.
A practical essential oil holder enables the
diffusion of aromatic fragrances.

scalds to people and animals will be emitted
from the vapour outlet grill “e”. Do not handle,
move, lift, tilt or perform any other operations
while the appliance is running and steam is
emitted; keep face and limbs away from the
vapour outlet grill “e”.
Note: if the blue light “d” does not light up despite
repeated pressing of the fan on/off switch “b” and
the appliance continues to run in the hot steam
mode, this indicates permanent malfunction of
the fan. In this case DO NOT use the appliance
and contact the PiC Service Centre.
REFILLING THE
WATER TANK
The humidifier will turn off automatically when
the water level in the tank is too low. Refill
as follows:
• Remove the power cable “o” plug from the mains
supply and leave the appliance to cool.
• Remove the tank “h”.
• Empty the water heating chamber “i” of all
residual water. To drain the water, remove

water towards the spout on the rim near
the water level control float (l) (11), until
all residual water has been removed.
Refill and replace the water tank “h” as
indicated in “PREPARATION AND USE – hot
steam operation” and PREPARATION AND
USE – warm vapour operation”.
Note: after use, never store the humidifier
with residual water in the heating chamber “i”.
When not in use or in storage, ensure that the
heating chamber (i) is dry and the water tank
“h” completely empty. See “CLEANING AND
MAINTENANCE” for further information.
CLEANING AND
MAINTENANCE
Caution!
Turn off the appliance using the on/off switch
“a”, remove the power cable “o” plug from the
mains socket and remove the power cable
from the appliance before any cleaning and
13
55°C approx. will be emitted from the
vapour outlet grill “e”. Avoid placing body
parts near the outlet grill “e” even for short
periods, as this may cause scalds. Do not
handle, move, lift, tilt or perform any other
operations while the appliance is running
and steam is emitted; keep face and limbs
away from the vapour outlet grill “e”.
•As the vapour temperature as regulated by
the fan system is relatively low, the vapour
output, while present, may be invisible in
certain room temperature and humidity
conditions. To check for vapour place a
mirror 15-20 cm away from the vapour
outlet grill; the mirror will fog, confirming
the output of vapour.
•When the tank “h” is empty or the water
level is insufficient, the appliance will stop
running. Unplug the power cable “o” and
refill the tank “h”.
Note: never remove the tank “h” before
turning off the appliance with the on/off
switch “a” and unplugging the power cable
“o” from the mains supply.
Note: correct evaporation of aromatic oils
and fragrances cannot be guaranteed during
warm vapour function, due to the low vapour
temperature. When adding such substances
to the essential oil holder “f”, take care not
to spill onto the outer part of the water
tank “h” or the vapour outlet grill “e”: this
could cause irreparable damage.
• This appliance is fitted with a safety switch
on its base. If the appliance is lifted it will
switch off automatically.
• To stop warm vapour operation and activate
hot steam operation, press the fan on/off
switch “b” (10). The appliance will continue
to operate in the hot steam mode.
• To turn the appliance off press the on/off
switch “a” (8).
Note: the water in the heating chamber “i” may
continue to boil for a few minutes after turning
the appliance off. Wait several minutes before
removing the water tank “h” or the vapour
outlet duct “n”.
Note: check whether the blue light “d” is lit.
In the event of fan blockage or malfunction,
the appliance will switch automatically to hot
steam operation and the blue light “d” will
go out. Fan blockage or malfunction is also
GB
maintenance operations. Always leave to cool
completely before cleaning.
Cleaning the tank
To avoid formation of bacteria or scale build-up,
the water tank “h” should be cleaned frequently
(at least once a week) as follows:
• Lift and remove the water tank “h” from
the appliance.
• Unscrew the cap “m” and empty the tank
completely.
• Refill the tank “h” with cold drinking water.
• Screw the cap “m” on firmly and shake the
tank vigorously. Rinse and drain completely
several times.
• After removing any residual water from
the water tank “h”, add a glass of solution
containing equal parts of water and vinegar,
screw the cap “m” on firmly and shake. Wait
20 minutes, shake again for a few minutes,
remove the cap “m” and rinse several times
with drinking water. Leave to drain and air
dry before replacing the tank “h”.
• Use a soft dry cloth to clean the outer
surfaces of the tank.
Note: do not use aggressive detergents to clean the
outer tank “h”: this could damage the tank.
•In the event of prolonged non-use, clean
all parts of tank “h” , dry immediately and
replace, leaving the cap “m” open. Prolonged
tank closure may cause unpleasant odours
and incrustations.
Cleaning of vapour duct “n” and heating
chamber “i”
Minerals in the water can cause scale to build
up in the steam duct “n” and heating chamber
“i” during normal use. These deposits may form
more or less quickly, depending on the water
hardness and frequency of appliance use. The
harder the water, the quicker the formation
of scale. Scale build-up makes the appliance
noisier and reduces its performance, and may
impair its operation. Scale should therefore be
removed at least once a week as follows:
• After removing the water tank “h”, remove the
steam duct “n” and clean it, removing any residual
scale, and rinse under running water.
• Remove any residual water in the heating
tank “i” (11), draining it towards the spout
on the rim of the heating tank “i” near the
14
water level float “l”.
• Fill the heating tank “i” and the water ducts
in the base of the appliance with a solution
of equal parts of water and white vinegar,
leave to rest for a few hours then empty
the heating tank “i” and the water ducts,
draining the solution towards the spout
on the rim of the heating tank “i” near
the water level float “l” (11). Rinse several
times with drinking water.
Note: never rinse the heating chamber “i”
under running water. This could cause water
to penetrate the humidifier, with the risk of
electric shock.
• Check the free movement of the water level
float “l” and remove any residual scale.
• If left unused for prolonged periods, clean
the heating tank “i” and steam duct “n”,
dry the appliance carefully and replace
along with the water tank “i”, cleaned as
instructed above and left to dry with the
cap “m” unscrewed.
Cleaning the outer appliance
Clean outer parts with a soft cloth slightly
dampened with water. Do not use abrasive
products, alcohol, solvents or similar, as the
surface may be damaged irreparably.
NOTE
• Do not immerse in water or any other liquid.
Do not place under running water or let water
enter inner parts; if this should happen,
do not use the appliance but contact the
PiC Service Centre.
• Keep the power cable “o” and air grills at the
base of the appliance away from water.
• Do not scratch the heating element with
any utensils and do not use any abrasive
products or chemicals to clean it.
• All repairs and replacement of fuses must be
carried out by the PiC Service Centre only.
