Note: You can also use an earphone to monitor what the recorder picks up through the internal (or external) microphone when recording. Your local RadioShack store carries a wide selection of earphones.

Insert the earphone’s plug into the recorder’s EAR jack. The internal speaker automatically disconnects.

LISTENING SAFELY

To protect your hearing, follow these guidelines when you use an earphone.

• Set the volume to the lowest setting before you begin listening. After you begin listening, adjust the volume to a comfortable level.

• Do not listen at extremely high volume levels. Extended high-volume listening can lead to permanent hearing loss.

• Once you set the volume, do not increase it. Over time, your ears adapt to the volume level, so a volume level that does not cause discomfort might still damage your hearing.

Frequently Answers and Questions

What is the recording time of this recorder?
The recording time depends on the tape type and speed used. With a MC-60 microcassette tape, you get 30 minutes per side at 2.4 cm/sec and 60 minutes per side at 1.2 cm/sec. MC-90 tapes offer longer recording time accordingly.
Can I use both internal and external microphones simultaneously?
No, using an external microphone automatically disables the built-in microphone.
How do I use the Quick Review feature?
During recording, slide the REW/REVIEW FAST-F/CUE switch to REW/REVIEW to listen to a portion of the recorded tape without stopping recording completely. Press RECORD to resume recording.
