For larger and heavier items such as plates, serving platters, saucepans, bowls, etc.
Glasses and small items such as saucers can also be placed in the lower basket.
The stay at the front of the upper basket determines the max. height permissible for items placed in the lower basket to ensure they do not impede the movement of the middle spray arm.
