Thank you for purchasing the DS6VC. At Origin Acoustics, we take pride in providing you with a high quality product. All of Origin
Acoustics’ speakers are designed to have excellent sound quality, longevity, and a simple installation process.
This unit is designed to be a speaker selector / volume control combination, allowing you to individually control the volume and power on multiple pairs of speakers without requiring multiple amplifiers.
Before Installing
Speaker Wire
Stranded copper wire of 16 or 18 gauge is recommended in most cases, but for wiring runs in excess of 80 feet, use 14 gauge wire instead. However, anything larger than 14 gauge is not recommended, as it may not fit. Never use aluminum, solid-core or
“Romex” wire with these products. In the United States, most states and municipalities require that special speaker wire be used inside walls for fire safety. Normally, these must have a “CL” fire rating. Contact your dealer or building contractor/inspector if uncertain about the wiring.
Avoiding Interference

Some electrical appliances and equipment (like light dimmers and switches) produce electrical “noise”. Like an antenna, speaker wires can pick up this interference, which causes buzzing or popping sounds to be heard through the speakers. Try to put several feet between the speaker wires and other electrical devices/ wiring.

Installation
1. Find a suitable mounting location.
2. Run all necessary wires and label them for future reference.
3. Locate and remove the connector plugs.
4. Strip about 1/4” (6 mm) of insulation from the end of every wire. If there are loose strands of wire, twist them back into a tight bundle until the ends are no longer frayed.
5. Place each wire in the correct opening on the connector plug (which is removeable).
6. Use a small screwdriver to fasten the wires by winding them.
7. Place the connector plug into the socket and lock it by tightening the the side screws.
