Before Using the Digital Piano

Turning the Power On

1. Connect the power adaptor.

1-1 Make sure that the [STANDBY/ON] button is set to STANDBY.

1-2 Insert the DC plug on the power adaptor into the [DC IN 12V] jack.

1-3 Insert the AC plug on the power adaptor into a wall AC outlet.

WARNING

Use the specified adaptor (PA-5D, PA-150, or an equivalent recommended by yamaha) only. The use of other adaptors may result in irreparable damage to both the adaptor and the instrument.

Unplug the AC Power Adaptor when not using the instrument, or during electrical storms.

2. Turn the power on.

Press the [STANDBY/ON] button.

• The power indicator located below the left end of the keyboard lights up.

To turn the power off, press the [STANDBY/ON] button again.

• The power indicator turns off.

CAUTION

Even when the switch is in the “STANDBY” position, electricity is still flowing to the instrument at a minimum level. When not using the instrument for an extended period of time, be sure to unplug the AC power adaptor from the wall AC outlet.

Key cover and music rest

Opening the key cover

1. Hold the ledge of the key cover top with both hands, then open the key cover slowly.

2. Fold the front panel strip.

3. Unfold the music rest.

Closing the key cover

1. Fold the music rest.

2. Unfold the front panel strip.

3. Hold the key cover with both hands and close it slowly.

CAUTION

Before closing the key cover, be sure to fold the music rest and unfold the front panel strip.

Setting the Volume

When you start playing, adjust the [MASTER VOLUME] control to the most comfortable listening level.

The level decreases.

The level increases.

CAUTION

Do not use this instrument at a high volume level for a long period of time, or your hearing may be damaged.

Using Headphones

Connect a pair of headphones to one of the [PHONES] jacks.

Two [PHONES] jacks are provided.

You can connect two sets of standard stereo headphones. (If you are using only one pair of headphones, you can plug them into either jack.) bottom surface standard stereo phone plug
