Figure 56: Setting the Transmission Rate in the

UI
Note:
Since there are up to four SDI inputs per Link on the PX-UCIP module, it is possible for the video bandwidth to exceed the 10G Ethernet bandwidth if all four IP Transmitter channels are enabled and configured for 3G: 3.0 Gbps.
To prevent this from occurring, the Maximum Transmission Rate parameter makes it possible to set the maximum bandwidth allowed for each SDI input. The total SDI bandwidth for all four SDI inputs must not exceed 9 Gbits per second (Gb/s). If the transmission rate detected for an SDI input is greater than the selected Maximum Transmission Rate, this channel is automatically disabled to prevent corrupting the other IP Transmitter channels.

11.
If using, repeat the same steps for
IP WAN B
,
IP Receiver B
,
IP Transmitter B
.
Note about Max Receive Rate
The maximum bandwidth of a 10 GBPS Ethernet (SFP+) port is 10.3125 Gbps.
If:
The
Max Receive Rate
on the four IP Receiver A channels are configured as follows: 3G, 3G, 3G, SD
And the bandwidth for the fourth IP Receiver channel changes from
SD
to
HD
or
3G
, at the video source
This will cause the 10G Ethernet bandwidth to be exceeded and will cause Ethernet packets to be randomly dropped. When Ethernet packets are dropped, all four IP Receiver channels will be missing packets and this will cause the video output on the IP-to-SDI path to break-up, freeze or go to video black. It is your responsibility to ensure that the IP Receivers don’t ‘over subscribe’ the 10G Ethernet bandwidth.
Note that if oversubscribed, the
Channel Bandwidth Status
parameter shows as
Channel Disabled
, however data packets are still transmitted over the network.

Under
Transmit Interface
, it is recommended you select
Both
, especially if a redundant network is being used (Primary and Secondary)
Note: The SDNO Controller does not monitor Selenio data connection status (that is, which data link is active, Primary or Secondary) so if Transmit Interface is not set to Both, the SDNO Controller cannot determine the switch to communicate with based on the data connection status.
