The command logging function is used to log the commands that have successfully been configured to the switch via the command line interface. The requirement is to log the command itself, along with information about the user account that entered the command into the system log and the informational severity level. Commands that do not cause a change in the switch configuration or operation (such as show) will not be logged. A save command will change the configuration file hence it will be logged. Information about saving or viewing the system log is described in the syslog functional specification and is out of the scope of this UIS.
