Properties The following table provides the Global Data utility properties.
Type
Number max. of publications
Size of a variable at publication
Number max. of subscriptions
Maximum variable size at subscription
Value
1
1 to 512 words
64
Total of 2K words
The application variables are stored in a contiguous %MW zone.
Each published or subscribed application variable in a Distribution Group is linked to a Global Data.
Each Global Data has a unique identification ( Ident.
) on the inside of a Distribution
Group. This identification corresponds to the status bit position in the Global Data status bit zone.
The link between published/subscribed application variable and Global Data is established during the configuration phase.

Multicast filtering
%MW Zone
This zone allows the multicast IP address (class D) to be entered for the group to which the station belongs. The value 239.255.255.255 is the default value.
This zone allows the distribution period of the publication to be selected. The publication is synchronized with the PLC master task. The publication can be performed at each cycle of the Mast task (default value), or every n cycles of the
Mast. task.
Validity Time Out This zone allows the validity "time-out" value to be adjusted.
An associated status bit (%IW zone) is linked to each Global Data and allows monitoring if the data has been published and received by the end of the time indicated in this window. If yes, the value is 1, otherwise the bit is set to 0.
Multicast
Filtering
This check box activates the multicast filtering.
This function allows the reduction of data flow on large networks. Multicast filtering requires the use of commutators that support this function (GMRP IEEE 802.1D protocol).
%MW Zone This zone allows the configuration of the start word address in the memory zone reserved for variables. According to the variable used, the end zone word address is calculated automatically by the program and displayed. An error appears if the maximum length is exceeded.

Configuration of the Variables Table
At a Glance
Ident. Zone
Type Zone
The Table of variables zone of the Global Data configuration screen enables you to configure the station variables.
Several zones are available: z

Address
Length
This column, numbered from 1 to 64 , indicates the identification numbers of the configurable variables.
This column enables you to choose the type of each variable: z
NONE : variable that is neither published nor subscribed z z
PUB : published variable
SUB : subscribed variable
Symbol Zone
Address zone
Length Zone
This column enables you to display the symbol given to a %MW zone, defined in the
PL7 application variables editor.
Use the Update symbols button to update the value following a modification.
This column displays the zone start address of a variable in %MW.
The word index of the preceding variables is automatically updated according to the length and the choice of address of the first word of the zone (See %MW Zone,
).
In this column enter the length of the variable wanted in number of words. The %MW zone is thus updated.
Error Monitoring There is no monitoring of consistency between the configurations of the different stations.
In the case of a configuration error, the %MWxy.i.13 internal word indicates the type of error (see
