TROUBLESHOOTING

Visit a Princess Auto Ltd. location for a solution if the tool does not function properly or parts are missing. If unable to do so, have a qualified technician service the tool.

1. Loose/slipping belt

2. Excessive leaks in system

3. Blown gasket

4. Broken reed valve

5. Obstructed intake filter

1. Too much oil in crankcase

2. Improper weight of oil

3. Obstructed crankcase vent

4. Dirty/plugged intake filter

5. Worn piston rings

6. Scored cylinder

1. Poor ventilation

2. Improper pump rotation

3. Internal pump problem

1. Motor is starting/stopping excessively

2. Overload is defective/weak

3. Improper gauge of extension cord

4. Stripped or poorly tightened motor through bolts

5. Cracks in end bell or housing

SUGGESTED SOLUTION(S)

1. Adjust belt tension

2. Correct air leaks

3. Replace head gaskets

4. Replace reed valves

5. Clean or replace intake element

6. Replace regulator

7. Replace pilot valve

1. Drain to proper level

2. Replace with proper oil

3. Replace dipstick or oil fill plug/crankcase vent

4. Clean/replace intake filter

5. Contact Princess Auto Ltd.


1. Relocate compressor



1. Install constant speed or dual control kit

2. Replace overload

3. Use longer lengths of air hose or heavier cord

4. Retighten or replace stripped through bolts


1. Install proper spark plug after gapping to factory specs

2. Fill to top of threads for oil plug

3. Change to proper weight of oil for operating temperature


5. Open tank or cooler drain

1. Add oil

2. Replace pin

3. Replace bearings

4. Replace inserts or rod assembly

5. Consult Princess Auto Ltd.

6. Inspect, repair or replace valves & pistons

1. Check system for air leaks

2. Replace valves or valve plates

3. Replace filter element

4. Replace gaskets

5. Replace gauges


1. Clean or replace air filter

2. Drain oil and refill to proper lever

1. Move pump to allow 18 in. ventilation

2. Clean pump

3. Replace filter

4. Add proper compressor oil

5. Clean valve plate and replace valves

3. Clean crankcase breather

4. Adjust to proper oil level

5. Drain and replace with non-detergent, single viscosity oil
