It is required on every workstation on which navigations are to be played back. Before you can install the Navigator, and in order to ensure that it can be used to play back navigations without problems, certain requirements must be satisfied and certain procedures must be followed. These instructions will assist you with the administrative handling of the Navigator. System requirements The Navigator is mandatory for playing back navigations. Please note the following minimum system requirements for installation: Type Specifications Operating system Windows XP (at least Service Pack 3), Vista or Windows 7 64 & 32 bit version Memory A minimum of 1 GB Hard drive 10 MB of free space Browser Internet Explorer 7.0 – 9.0 Scenario Requirement SAP GUI Version 7.1 or higher SAP Business Suite SAP GUI Scripting activated Windows XP and Vista Windows Automation API Java Applications only for 32 bit version Installation Installation is performed via the provided installation file Navigator.msi. To install the Navigator, carry out the following steps: Note: In order to install the Navigator, you will need to have administrator rights for the computer on which the Navigator is to be installed. 1. The installation program of the Navigator is available in various language versions. To install, select the file in the appropriate language version. 2. To open the installation program, double-click on the installation file program icon. 3. The installation program of the Navigator is available in various language versions. To install, select the file in the appropriate language version. 4. To open the installation program, double-click on the installation file program icon. 04 2012 7 Installation Guide: mySAP Navigator Distribution of the Navigator onto the user computers For fast and easy distribution in a network, after Navigator has been installed the application folder can be copied to the relevant users' workstations without needing to reinstall the software. The program still remains run capable and can then be used to play back navigations. In some cases the operating system may not be able to recognize the file format of the navigation (*.dnt) when a navigation is called up for the first time. If this happens, the dialog Open with... will appear. Use this to select Navigator.exe in the copied folder of the Navigator. Activate the checkbox for the option Always use this program to open to avoid having to repeat this action. The folder should be copied by an administrator who has the corresponding access rights for the workstations. Uninstalling the Navigator The Navigator can be uninstalled via the software dialog of your operating system. This can be called up via the menu Settings -> Control Panel -> Software. Alternatively, you can also uninstall the program via the installation file Navigator.msi of the corresponding version of your Navigator: Launch the installation file and click on Next. Select the option Remove and click on the Remove button to confirm. The Navigator software is then uninstalled. Removal after distribution to user computers If you have copied the application folder of the Navigator to a user computer then you can remove this without uninstalling the software. To do this, delete the folder on the corresponding user computer. Requirements for playing back navigations under SAP For best possible playback of navigations under SAP and for best possible recognition of objects, a SAP GUI version 7.1 or higher is required for the SAP system. The appropriate application profiles (for example, SAP Tradeshow) must be installed and listed within license key as “enabled” features. The playback of the navigation requires the corresponding GUI (e.g. SAP Tradeshow) used for the recording. For information about the necessary settings in the SAP client, please refer to the installation handbook or consult the F1 help function in the Producer. Designating MIME types while using an IIS In order to play navigation files from a Microsoft Internet Information Server (IIS), it is necessary to clear several file types (MIME types) for the administrative area of operations as well as for navigation files playback. This is necessary as the server does not recognise the filename extensions by default and therefore is unable to run the files. Thus, the error message "File not found" will be displayed when accessing the file. 8 04 2012 The respective files can be designated in the MIME type dialogue of the IIS settings. Select the Add MIME type function and subsequently define the following extensions and types: Extension Type/Sub-type Description .dnt application/dnt Navigation project playback file .index text/xml Contains the list of files in a folder to map the structure in the published area of operations. .wa text/xml Defines the folder for a specific area of operations. Contains the information regarding this area and, where applicable, a central work area. .deploy text/xml Indicates a published area of operations. File has no further content. Specifying navigations for the Autostart function Navigations can be specified for regular use in the Autostart function. This can be used for example to automatically open a navigation every time the computer is started up so that it is ready for work. Here, you can access navigations in a local working area or navigations which are available via a web server or through file sharing. For the Context Assistant, we recommend merging the different Context Assistants in a single project and launching this via the Autostart function so that all available contents can be displayed. Defining the Autostart function The procedure for specifying a navigation for the Autostart function depends on the particular operating system. Proceed as follows to define the Autostart for your operating system: Windows XP In order to specify a navigation for the Autostart, open the Scheduled Tasks Wizard via the menu Control Panel -> Scheduled Tasks -> Add scheduled task. 1. 2. 3. 4. 5. In the welcome dialog click on Next. Use the Browse... option to locate the dnt file of your navigation in your folder structure. Specify when the navigation should start, e.g. On startup of the computer. Click on Next. If required, enter the User name and the Password for the workstation. Click on Next. Enable the option Open expanded properties for this task when clicking on "Finish". The navigation can then be defined in the expanded properties. 6. In the Execute field, enter the path for the Navigator.exe - e.g.: C:\Programme\SAP\Navigator71\Navigator.exe. Click on OK to confirm. 04 2012 9 Installation Guide: mySAP Navigator Windows Vista and Windows 7 To specify a navigation for the Autostart, open the task planning via the menu Control Panel -> Administration (Classic View) -> Task Planning. 1. 2. 3. 4. 5.
