Using Your Document Camera with SMART Notebook 11 Those lucky teachers who have access to both a SMART Board and a document camera (ELMO, Aver vision, or Hovercam) are probably accustomed to picking up a SMART pen and writing on that projected image. This works great if you have SMART Notebook 10, but there is change with Notebook 11. To use your document camera with your SMART board follow the instructions below. 1) Open SMART Notebook 11. 2) Look for the “view screens” button on your toolbar. Click it and choose “Transparent Background.” Your SMART Notebook software will disappear. You are then free to open Image Mate, or another program depending on your device, and use your SMART pens on the document. 3) While using “Transparent Background” you will be left with a small toolbar at the bottom of the screen that looks like this. If you think that you will want to snapshot your work, click on the arrow to expand this little toolbar which includes a camera. 4) Whether you expand your toolbar or not, click on the monitor to close the transparent background. Note: If this process doesn’t appeal to you, you could always use your document camera to take pictures of your papers ahead of time. Then they can be inserted like images into a SMART Notebook for immediate and future use. ">
