As part of the Yale commitment to provide products to meet customer requirements, Yale padlocks are subjected to exacting test programmes.

These test padlocks to BSEN 12320: 2001 for operating durability, resistance to corrosion as well as strength against different forms of attack such as drilling, sawing and twisting.

The Yale strength rating system has been developed to enable the true evaluation of the physical security of padlocks and is classified in 10 grades based on tests that simulate attack. For extra security many Yale padlocks feature double locking and self-latching devices.
