This guide offers basic instructions.
For detailed operations, please see the separate Operating Instructions.
Preparation:
Turn on the television and select the appropriate video input
to suit the connections to this unit.
Press /l button to turn on the unit.
Press [DRIVE SELECT] to select the HDD or DVD drive.
If you selected the DVD drive, press  OPEN/CLOSE button
on the main unit to insert a disc.

“Formatting Discs or Cards” (page 60 of Operating Instructions)
Formatting is the process of making media such as DVD-RAM recordable on recording equipment.

You cannot directly record to DVD-R DL and +R DL discs with this unit.

Use the Finalise feature!
“Finalising” (page 61 of Operating Instructions)
DVD-R, etc. recorded on this unit cannot be played on other players immediately after recording. Using
the Finalise feature allows you to play these discs on other players. (However, once the disc is finalised
you will no longer be able to record to the disc.)
Auto Finalise
Auto finalisation is always offered before an unfinalised disc is ejected.
Finalise the disc so that it can be played on other DVD players.

Press the REC button to start finalise.
