1. Application

First time users or inexperienced operators pay particular attention to the operation of the 20V Spray Gun, including details of starting and stopping and correct use of the 20V Spray Gun on pages 13-16, as well as the maintenance instructions on pages 17.

Intended use of the 20V Spray Gun(battery / charger not included)

NOTE: This product is for private domestic DIY use only.

It is not suitable for commercial or trade use.

This 20VSpray Gun is used for cleaning and watering / water spraying in a domestic environment. Use the 20V Spray Gun only for intended applications.

Safety warnings for battery-operated appliances

1. Non-rechargeable batteries are not to be recharged.

2. Rechargeable batteries are to be removed from the appliance before being charged.

6. Safety Warnings for battery pack

a) Do not dismantle, open or shred cells or battery pack. b) Do not short-circuit a battery pack. Do not store battery packs haphazardly in a box or drawer where they may short-circuit each other or be short-circuited by conductive materials. When battery pack is not in use, keep it away from other metal objects, like paper clips, coins, keys, nails, screws or other small metal objects, that can make a connection from one terminal to another. Shorting the battery terminals together may cause burns or a fire.

c) Do not expose battery pack to heat or fire. Avoid storage in direct sunlight.

d) Do not subject battery pack to mechanical shock.

e) In the event of battery leaking, do not allow the liquid to come into contact with the skin or eyes. If contact has been made, wash the affected area with copious amounts of water and seek medical advice.

f) Seek medical advice immediately if a cell or battery pack has been swallowed.

g) Keep battery pack clean and dry.

h) Wipe the battery pack terminals with a clean dry cloth if they become dirty.

i) Battery pack needs to be charged before use. Always refer to this instruction and use the correct charging procedure.

j) Do not maintain battery pack on charge when not in use.

k) After extended periods of storage, it may be necessary to charge and discharge the battery pack several times to obtain maximum performance.

l) Battery pack gives its best performance when it is operated at normal room temperature (20 °C ± 5 °C).

m) When disposing of battery packs, keep battery packs of different electrochemical systems separate from each

other.

n) Recharge only with the charger specified by manufacturer. Do not use any charger other than that specifically provided for use with the equipment. A charger that is suitable for one type of battery pack may create a risk of fire when used with another battery pack. o) Do not use any battery pack which is not designed for use with the equipment.

p) Keep battery pack out of the reach of children.

q) Retain the original product literature for future reference.

r) Remove the battery from the equipment when not in use.

s) Dispose of properly.

t) Use only compatible ALDI Xfinity 20V batteries with this appliance (not supplied).

4. Do not use chargers for works other than those for which they are designed.

5. Before charging, ensure your charger is matching the local AC supply.

6. The charging device must be protected from moisture.

7. Do not use the charging device in the open.

8. Do not short out the contacts of battery or charger.

9. Respect the polarity “+/-“ when charging.

10. Do not open the unit and keep out of the reach of children.

11. Do not charge the batteries of other manufactures or ill-suited models.

12. Ensure that the connection between the battery charger and battery is correctly positioned and is not obstructed by foreign bodies.

13. Keep battery charger’s slots are free of foreign objects and protect against dirt and humidity. Store in a dry and frost-free place.

14. When charging batteries, ensure that the battery charger is in a well-ventilated area and away from inflammable materials.

Batteries can get hot during charging. Do not overcharge any batteries. Ensure that batteries and chargers are not left unsupervised during charging.

15. Do not recharge non-rechargeable batteries, as they can overheat and break.

16. Longer life and better performance can be obtained if the battery pack is charged when the air temperature is between 18 º C and 24 º C. Do not charge the battery pack in air temperatures below 4.5

º C, or above 40.5

º C. This is important as it can prevent serious damage to the battery pack.

17. Charge only battery pack of the same model recommended by the manufacturer and of models recommended by manufacturer.

18. Use only compatible ALDI Xfinity 20V chargers with this appliance (not supplied).

8. Important information – Product care

NOTE: Xfinity Battery and Charger not included. For any issues related directly to your purchased ALDI Xfinity Battery / charger, contact the Customer Service of the manufacturer as listed on the battery / charger packaging, manual or on the label on the battery / charger.

This Spray Gun uses Lithium Ion Battery Cells. Care MUST be taken to ensure both the safety and life of the pack is maintained. Ensure you have read all of the safety notes in the previous pages before using the Spray Gun. Treat the battery pack with care and within the guidelines of this manual and the supplied manual included with the purchase of ALDI Xfinity Batteries.

If the battery pack does become immersed in water or any fluids, or is subject to a severe drop or it does not operate within the guidelines of this manual or the supplied manual included with the purchase of ALDI Xfinity Batteries, immediately STOP using the battery pack and have it checked.

9. OPERATING INSTRUCTIONS

NOTE: Before using the tool, read the instruction book carefully.

BEFORE OPERATION

NOTE: The tool is compatible with ALDI 20V Xfinity batteries and chargers. Xfinity Battery pack and charger is not included with this product; it is shown only for illustrative and instructional purposes only.

1. To attach the battery align the grooved guide rails of the battery pack (4) with the raised guide rails on the bottom of the spray gun. A click will be heard when the battery pack (4) is engaged correctly (Fig A1).

2. Removing the battery pack (4). Press down the battery release button and pull the battery pack (4) away from the unit (Fig A2).

3. Charging the battery pack (4) (Fig A3).

1. Attaching extension lance (7) to the power nozzle (6) (Fig B).

When attaching, align the two projections on the extension lance (7) with the grooves of the power nozzle (6), then push the nozzle in and rotate in a clockwise direction to engage the lance securely.

2. Attaching the spray nozzle (9) (Fig C).

sure it is locked into position securely.

NOTE: Choose a suitable nozzle according to your work. The 0° spray nozzle is applicable for cleaning, and the 25° spray nozzle is most suitable for watering.

3. Attaching the 6m hose (11) to the power nozzle (6) (Fig D1 D2).

NOTE: After the 6m hose (11) is attached, check the connection by gently pulling the 6m hose (11). It should not be able to be removed or pulled off from the power nozzle (6).

4. Attaching your own water hose (optional). Firstly, remove the hose adapter (3) (Fig E1 E2), then attach your home garden hose with suitable connectors (Fig E3).

WARNING: It is not recommended to connect the 6m hose

(11) to your garden hose or your home tap.

NOTE: Except for the 6m hose (11) supplied, you can also connect the power nozzle to your own water hose with suitable connectors.

NOTE: Check whether the hose filter (13) screen is missing before retightening the hose adapter (3) (Fig E2). When retightening the hose adapter (3), tighten securely (using a

17mm spanner, not supplied). Otherwise, it may not draw any water for proper operation.

OPERATION

1. Starting and stopping the Spray Gun (Fig F).

NOTE: At the first use, you need to remove any air in the 6m hose (11) by placing the power nozzle (6) below waist level

(<1.5m), then attaching the extension lance (7) and starting the spray gun by pressing in the Lock-off switch (1) firstly and the

On/off switch lever (2) Secondly. It will not start working until the water goes up along the 6m hose (11) and sprays out. This could take up to 30 seconds or more depending on the fresh water source. To stop the spray gun, release the On/off switch lever (2).

2. Watering (Fig G).

NOTE: It is recommended to use the 25° spray nozzle for watering.

3. Cleaning (Fig H I).

WARNING: Do not connect the spray gun to water supplies that are dirty, rusty, muddy, or corrosive. (Including window cleaning liquids, plant foods, or fertilizers etc.)

NOTE: Not recommended for use with salt water; immediately rinse with fresh water for proper maintenance.

4. Residual risk

Even if you use the 20v Spray Gun properly per the instructions provided and following all safety notes, there are always residual risks. The following risk may occur:

- Accidental Starting: Always remove the battery pack from the spray gun before carrying out any adjustment, servicing or maintenance. When not in use, store the battery in a safe, dry, clean environment.

- Risk of fluid injection: Do not direct the output of the spray gun at any person, the operator, or any animals. Never place hands in front of nozzle, direct spray away from self or others, and always operate in an area clear of all persons, pets and obstacles. Do not operate the product when fatigued or under the influence of alcohol or drugs, stay alert at all times.

Reduce residual risks by using the 20v Spray Gun with care and following all safety notes as well as other instructions.

10. Maintenance

Cleaning

Clean the case only with a damp cloth. DO NOT use solvents when cleaning plastic parts. Plastics are susceptible to damage from various types of commercial solvents and may be damaged by their use. Use a clean cloth to remove dirt, dust, oil, grease etc, then dry well.

Battery Maintenance

To maintain battery capacity, always refer to the specific instructions in the supplied manual included with the purchase of ALDI Xfinity

Batteries. It is recommended to recharge your battery every two months. Store only fully charged batteries. They should therefore be recharged from time to time. The place of storage must be dry.

CAUTION! Electrical and battery operated units that no longer work should not be disposed of in the household waste! They are to be collected separately, in accordance with your local waste disposal regulations.

ATTENTION! Batteries must be removed from battery powered tools and disposed of separately in accordance with relevant waste battery regulations.

Batteries must never be disposed of with domestic waste!

Please discard power tools no longer usable at a local collection point. Collection and disposal of packaging materials separately by types complying with local rules and regulations. For details, please contact your local council.

12. Troubleshooting

Symptom Possible causes Solution

Spray Gun turns on but does not draw any water, or there is not sufficient pressure.

Power nozzle (6) is too high from the water source surface.

Lower the spray gun below

1.5m.

Hose filter (13) is blocked.

The garden hose is not well connected to the machine.

Hose adapter (3) loose.

Take out the hose filter (13) and rinse the parts with clean water. (See Fig. J1, J2)

Check and reattach the garden hose tightly. (See Fig.

D2)

Tighten the hose adapter (3) securely with a spanner (not supplied).

The hose filter (13) screen is missing or damaged.

(See Fig. E2)

Contact Customer Service on

1300 889 028 for replacement or purchase of this filter.

Pump, hose, or other parts are frozen due to outside temperatures.

Wait for the pump, hose or other parts to thaw.

Hose kinks.

Additional air be sucked into the spray gun.

Straighten out the 6m hose (11).

Remove the pressure extension lance (7) to eliminate the air, or remove the spray nozzle (9) to drain all the water completely. Then reattach the extension lance

(7) or the spray nozzle (9).

Spray nozzle

(9) leaks.

Outlet pressure increases suddenly.

Fixing nail of the multispray nozzle loosens.

Spray Gun drains out water after stopping.

There is water remaining in the extension lance (7) and pump after stopping.

Tighten it with a hex key (not supplied).

Drain all the water completely before storage.

The battery pack (4) is not attached well.

Reinstall the battery pack (4).

There will be a click noise when the battery pack (4) engages.

Spray Gun does not start.

Battery pack (4) has no charge.

Replace with a new battery pack (4) or recharge the battery pack (4).

Defective battery.

Replace with a new battery pack (4).

Spray Gun pressure is not consistent.

Additional air can is being sucked into the Spray Gun.

Check connection between the hose adapter (3) and the

6m hose (11).

Spray

Gun stops automatically.

Battery pack is empty.

The spray nozzle (9) is blocked. The current protection is activated.

Replace with a new battery pack (4) or recharge the battery pack (4).

Remove the spray nozzle (9) and turn on the spray gun. If the spray gun works normally, replace with a new spray nozzle.

Supplier for repair.

Please be aware that if your product is capable of retaining user-generated data (such as les stored on a computer hard drive, telephone numbers stored on a mobile telephone, songs stored on a portable media player, games saved on a games console or les stored on a USB memory stick) during the process of repair, some or all of your stored data may be lost.

We recommend you save this data elsewhere prior to sending the product for repair.

You should also be aware that rather than repairing goods, we may replace them with refurbished goods of the same type or use refurbished parts in the repair process.

Please be assured though, refurbished parts or replacements are only used where they meet

ALDI’s stringent quality specifications.
