It will only take a few minutes, and you must do it if you want the VCR Plus+ programming system to work properly when you do not use the TV GUIDE Plus+ system. Since the channel numbers of the stations you receive may not be the same as the station numbers, and since channel numbers differ from area to area, you must program the VCR with your local channel information. To fill in the boxes, you will need 1) a cable channel line-up list, if applicable (you can request one from your cable company), and 2) a chart that lists guide channel numbers, which you can find in your TV guide or the TV listings of your local newspaper. But, as long as the status display indicates a stereo signal, you are receiving a stereo signal. This is normal. • If Hi-Fi audio continually reverts to normal audio during playback, you may want to change AUDIO OUT to MONO at step 4 on page 41. • Only tapes recorded in Hi-Fi audio will play back in Hi-Fi audio. Tapes recorded in normal audio will play back in monaural audio. 5O Notes °oloaeeo ol ooeet Iota o. *-. °° o° °°°.o • * .. °-.-°°° °" * °o°°° ° °o o°°.°°° °, °-°-° °° °o o.°°.°, .o °o°°o°....°°-°°o .. °° °o. °. °° o° °o.°° °° °°oe Jo° °° °°°. 51 Index _'''_'_'_'__''''_'_'_o_°_°_°_'_Q_t_''__'_'_'_o_'_'_'o_''_eeQ_''t'e_" a. ch button ................... ac power cord ................ accessories .................... antemaa input jack .............. audio input/output jacks ....... automatic . clock setting ........... playback rewind, eject, off ............ batteries ....................... before requesting service blank seardh ................... ....... 15 18 52 1"8 16, 18 •.... 11 .35 35 5 46-47 32 cable box transmitters ............ 16 cable converter box controls . 14-15, 37 cassette-inside light ............. 17 cassette (also see tape) compartment ................ 16 cbl button . ............. ....14, 37 ch up/down buttons ............. 15 ch3/ch4 switch ............... 6, 18 channel /line input display ........... 17 +100 ...................... 5 adding .................... 29 deleting ................... 29 memory ........... ........ 28 programming ............... 28 reviewing ................. 29 up/down buttons ............ 16 clear button ................... 15 clock display .................... 17 (setting) ................ 1O- 12 color buttons .................. 15 connections ... :...... 6, 21, 40, 42-45 contents, table of ............... .4 controls remote ..... •.......... 5, 14-15 vcr ..................... 16-18 counter only mode .............. 13 daylight-saving time .......... display panel .................. duplication .................... eject button ................... erase protection ................. f. adv button ................... f.fwd button ................ feature light ................... front panel .................... glossary ...................... guide plus+ button .............. lO, 49 17 21 14 5 14 15, 16 17 16 47 15 hi-fi level meter light ............ 17 hi-fi stereo sound system ......... 41 hookups basic ...................... 6 notes ..................... 49 other ................ 40, 42-45 info button .................... 15 jog & shuttle button ................. light " .jog dial .................... skip search button .............. slow button .................... playback .................. sip ........................... language selection .......... ...7, 30 sp ............................ line input • speed display ............ : . ...... 17 button .................... mode .................. 2 I, 49 light ...................... long play ...................... 5 standard play . .. ............. lp ........... -................. 5 status display .................. status/exit button ............... stereo manual clock setting .............
