Read Me First Before you can use your NOE 771 x0 module, you must configure it with an Internet Protocol (IP) address, by using either one of the two following methods. l Create a new user-configured IP address. l Use the derived default IP address. Note: Operating on a Corporate Network Before placing the NOE on a corporate network, Schneider Electric recommends that you discuss the installation with your MIS department. It is likely that your company’s corporate network has at least one DHCP server running already. If the NOE’s DHCP server is running on the same network, it may disturb the network. To avoid any possible problem related to the NOE’s DHCP server on the corporate network, you must ensure that the DHCP server is not running in the NOE by not having Address Entries in the Configuration. If there are no configured devices in the Address Server Configuration page, the NOE will not start the DHCP server. Ensure the power supply on the NOE rack will not be interrupted during the upgrade. To upgrade V2.xx (excluding V2.5x) to V3.00, follow the steps below. (Note: To upgrade V2.5x or downgrade, please contact Technical Support.) Step Action 1 Back-up and save your existing Web configurations (bootptab, snmp.ini) and/or customized Web pages, since all existing Web pages will be lost when you perform step 2. 2 Use the EXECLoader to download the Kernel V3.00 77100KER.bin (for NOE 771 00) or 77110KER.bin (for NOE 771 10). Note: When the EXECLoader window reads "The transfer operation completed SUCCESSFULLY," you must wait approximately 15 seconds for the NOE to automatically reset. After the NOE has reset, it will stay in kernel mode, and the "Kernel" LED will flash. You may continue to the next step. Step Action 3 6 Use the EXECLoader to download the Executive V3.00 NOE77100.bin (for NOE 771 00) or NOE77110.bin (for NOE 771 10). (Note: The message "The transfer operation completed SUCCESSFULLY" will display on the EXECLoader window if this step is successful. However, after approximately 10 seconds, you may see the "Kernel" LED flashing on the NOE panel. If this happens, repeat step 3. 31005157 00 July 2003 Quantum 140 NOE 771 -00 & -10 Version 3.0 Read Me Step Action 4 Use the Web Loader (put771.bat) to install the Web V2.2.2 SP2. l Find the batch file (put771.bat), which is located in the WebLoader directory. l At the DOS command prompt, run the batch file (put771.bat) with the NOE’s IP address (for example: X:\...\WebLoader>put771 192.168.100.235). Note: For the NOE 771 10 module, you can also use FactoryCast Configurator | Server | Restore Defaults to install the Web v2.2.2 SP2. To do this, you must install FactoryCast v2.2.2 SP2 on your computer by running Install v2.2.2 SP2.bat before using Restore Defaults. 5 Move your backed-up custom Web pages into the NOE module by FTP or the Web Transfer function from the FactoryCast utility. 6 Reboot the NOE module by removing it from the backplane and replacing it. IP Address Assignment There are multiple ways to assign an IP address to a new module. This includes the use of a DHCP/BOOTP server or PLC software. Another method is to use the default IP address as described later (see Derived Default IP Address, p. 8). User-Configured IP Address A user-configured IP address requires you to assign the IP address. Therefore, if a new IP address must be assigned, obtain it from your system administrator. Assign the new IP address using your Concept or ProWORX Programming Panel. Record the IP network address on the space located on the front panel of the module behind the door. For more information refer to the latest version of the Concept for Quantum User Manual (840USE42800). CAUTION COMMUNICATIONS BLOCK IP ADDRESS ASSIGNMENT Configuration of an incorrect destination IP address in an Ethernet communications block can cause register overwriting in the local PLC memory. Ensure that 0.0.0.0 is not entered as a destination IP address. For more information, please contact Schneider Electric and refer to resolution #E8096. Failure to follow this precaution can result in injury or equipment damage. 31005157 00 July 2003 7 CAUTION MOMENTUM MODULE IP ADDRESS ASSIGNMENT USING BOOTP/ DHCP Momentum ENT11000 Ethernet adapters may not successfully obtain an IP address from the following modules. l all NOE 771x1 modules l NOE771x0 modules (with executive version 3 or higher) To avoid this issue, you must perform the mandatory upgrade to ensure that your Momentum ENT11000 Ethernet adapters are version 1.06 or higher. Failure to follow this precaution can result in injury or equipment damage. Derived Default IP Address To use the default IP address, which is derived from the module’s global (or MAC) address, proceed as follows. Step Action 1 Put the NOE module into a backplane containing a CPU that has no existing IP configuration program. 2 Let the module power up without being connected to a network. 3 You will see the RUN LED flash six times, which indicates that the module is using the default IP address. 4 Locate the global address label on the front panel of the module. 5 Note the right most eight digits. 6 Convert the digits from hexadecimal to decimal. Each pair of hexadecimal numbers will result in a decimal number between 0 and 255. This is the default IP address. IEEE GLOBAL ADDRESS 0000540B72A8 5 4 0 B 7 2 A 8 84.11.114.168 8 31005157 00 July 2003 Quantum 140 NOE 771 -00 & -10 Version 3.0 Read Me Note: The hexadecimal conversion can be done with a scientific calculator or a computer-based calculator program. Record the IP network address on the space located on the front panel of the module behind the door.
