In the case of Dometic B2200 roof air conditioners with a lower serial number, the DC-Kit functions for the Dometic B1600 are possible. Technical description During a journey, a light system generates a voltage of approx. 14 V which ensures that the starter battery is recharged and the vehicle's electrical consumers are supplied. Some caravans also have an electrical connection between the starter and additional battery which is active when the vehicle engine is running. This cable is designed for currents up to 20 A. When the air conditioner is in operation via the inverter, the current taken from the 12 V supply can be up to 120 A. This would overload any standard connection lead present between the starter and additional battery because the light system is supposed to deliver a large proportion of the load current. A remedy for this is an additional cable connection (for cable cross sections see table on page 102) between the starter battery and additional battery which is switched on via the power relay of the ECL-76/ECL-102/ECL-103 and switched off when the voltage is low. 82 EN ECL-76, ECL-102, ECL-103 I Technical description NOTE If the circuit diagram also shows an on/off cable from the charging current distributor to the air conditioner, the air conditioner (or compressor motor) will be switched off when the voltage is low. Otherwise, an on/off cable is run from the charging current distributor to the inverter or to the remote control of the inverter and the inverter is switched off. A remote control (remote switch) is connected to the inverter with which the inverter must be switched on before start-up or switched off when it is not in use. The charging current distributors have two relays which are used as follows: Power relay (30/87 or Batt. 1/Batt. 2) to connect the starter and consumer battery Control relay – ECL-76/DC-Kit1, CA1000: to switch the compressor on and off (fig. 1, page 3) – ECL-76/DC-Kit1, FreshJet1100: to switch the compressor on and off (fig. 2, page 4) – ECL-102/DC-Kit2, CA2500: to switch the compressor or air conditioner on and off (fig. 3, page 5) – ECL-102/DC-Kit2, B1600: to switch the compressor or air conditioner on and off (fig. 4, page 6) – ECL-102/DC-Kit2, B1600 Plus/B2200: to switch the compressor or air conditioner on and off (fig. 5, page 7) – ECL-102/DC-Kit2, FreshJet1100, FreshJet1700, FreshJet2200: to switch the compressor or air conditioner on and off (fig. 6, page 8) – ECL-102/DC-Kit2, FreshLight1600, FreshLight2200: to switch the compressor or air conditioner on and off (fig. 7, page 9) – ECL-102/DC-Kit3, CA1000, CA2500: to switch the compressor or air conditioner on and off (fig. 8, page 10) – ECL-102/DC-Kit3, B1600 Plus, B2200: to switch the compressor or air conditioner on and off (fig. 9, page 11) – ECL-102/DC-Kit3, B1600, HB2500 (systems without enable input): to switch the compressor or air conditioner on and off plus to switch the inverter on and off using its remote control (fig. 0, page 12) – ECL-102/DC-Kit3, FreshJet1100, FreshJet1700, FreshJet2200: to switch the compressor or air conditioner on and off (fig. a, page 13) – ECL-102/DC-Kit3, FreshLight1600/2200: to switch the compressor or air conditioner on and off plus to switch the inverter on and off using its remote control (fig. b, page 14) – ECL-102/DC-Kit3, FreshWell3000: to switch the compressor or air conditioner on and off plus to switch the inverter on and off using its remote control (fig. c, page 15) – ECL-103/DC-Kit5, CA1000, CA2500: to switch the compressor or air conditioner on and off (fig. d, page 16) – ECL-103/DC-Kit5, B1600 Plus, B2200: to switch the compressor or air conditioner on and off (fig. e, page 17) EN 83 Technical description ECL-76, ECL-102, ECL-103 – ECL-103/DC-Kit5, B1600, HB2500 (systems without enable input): to switch the compressor or air conditioner on and off plus to switch the inverter on and off using its remote control (fig. f, page 18) – ECL-103/DC-Kit5, FreshJet1100, FreshJet1700, FreshJet2200: to switch the compressor or air conditioner on and off (fig. g, page 19) – ECL-103/DC-Kit5, FreshLight1600/2200: to switch the compressor or air conditioner on and off plus to switch the inverter on and off using its remote control (fig. h, page 20) – ECL-103/DC-Kit5, FreshWell3000: to switch the compressor or air conditioner on and off plus to switch the inverter on and off using its remote control (fig. i, page 21) – ECL-102/DC-Kit4, B2600: to switch the compressor or air conditioner on and off (fig. j, page 22) – ECL-102/DC-Kit4, B3200: to switch the compressor or air conditioner on and off plus to switch the inverter on and off using its remote control (fig. k, page 23) – ECL-102/DC-Kit4, FreshJet1100, FreshJet1700, FreshJet2200, FreshJet2600, FreshJet3200: to switch the compressor or air conditioner on and off (fig. l, page 24) – ECL-103/DC-Kit6, B2600: to switch the compressor or air conditioner on and off (fig. m, page 25) – ECL-103/DC-Kit6, B3200: to switch the compressor or air conditioner on and off plus to switch the inverter on and off using its remote control (fig. n, page 26) – ECL-102/DC-Kit6, FreshJet1100, FreshJet1700, FreshJet2200, FreshJet2600, FreshJet3200: to switch the compressor or air conditioner on and off (fig. o, page 27) Keys for the circuit diagrams in fig. 1, page 3 to fig. o, page 27 Character in circuit diagram A 84 Explanation Starter battery B Additional battery C Remote control D Switching off using power relay E Switching on using power relay F Electronic fuse EN ECL-76, ECL-102, ECL-103 6.1 Technical description Item numbers Item no. The following work must be carried out with caution and only by persons with the necessary skills and knowledge. This is because incorrect adjustment of the cut-in and cut-off voltages can cause the air conditioner to malfunction and/or cause the vehicle's electrical system to fail. NOTE The voltage scale shown on the charging current distributor is a guide. If different values are set, these must be checked using a suitable voltage measurement device. An externally adjustable laboratory power supply can be connected to terminals GND and D+ for this purpose. ➤ Insert the screwdriver into the axis of the potentiometer (fig. p, page 28). Turning the axis clockwise increases the voltage threshold value, turning it anti-clockwise reduces the voltage threshold value. I NOTE Due to information presently available, we do not recommend a cut-off voltage less than 11.5 V/23 V. 9 Cleaning and maintenance A NOTICE! Do not use sharp or hard objects or cleaning agents for cleaning as these may damage the product. ➤ Occasionally clean the product with a damp cloth. 10 Guarantee The statutory warranty period applies. If the product is defective, please contact the manufacturer's branch in your country (see the back of the instruction manual for the addresses) or your retailer.
