Loader lift arm damping
Activate the loader lift arm damper control to improve ride quality and stability during travel with the loader. Disengage the damper control before attempting to use the loader for loading operations.
Engaging the feature reduces the effect of uneven ground on the attitude of the machine when traveling at higher speeds. It reduces pitching by use of the loader arm mass and hydraulic system to act as a damper. This reduces the stress on the wheel loader and the motion imparted to the operator through the seat. This feature reduces the effect, but does not replace the operator’s responsibility for observing the terrain and making speed reductions to avoid extreme motion over undulating surfaces.
Before engaging the damper feature, verify that the loader bucket or attachment has sufficient clear
ance with the ground to avoid contact while traveling. The loader lift arms will drop when the damper function is activated.
To negate pitching motion of the loader chassis when traveling, raise the bucket or attachment approximately 30 cm (12”) to compensate for the vertical movement of the bucket or attachment as the feature moves.
The loader lift arm damping is engaged in the 2nd level using the rocker switch for the float position to the right of the operator‘s seat, Item 2 (Fig. 57).

Loader lift arm damper activation
•
Move the rocker switch Item 2 into position 2:
The indicator light in the switch is illuminated
– Damping is engaged. Do not actuate the loader lift arm, bucket or attachment control.
•
Move the rocker switch Item 2 into position 0:
The indicator light in the switch is goes off
– Damping is disengaged. Loader controls can be actuated.

High Flow
" hydraulic connection
NOTE
This connection is required for the operation of attachments which run continuously and require higher flow rates of hydraulic fluid.
If the loader is equipped with the "High Flow" system then the "Detent mechanism for the control lever for the optional hydraulics" is fitted as standard.
► For coupling of / uncoupling, proceed as de
scribed in the sections "Coupling of / Uncoupling attachments" on pages 122 and 122.
The "High Flow" hydraulic connections are located on the side of the loader lift arms (Fig. 58). The left-hand connection is for the pressure side, the right-hand is for the return line.

Activating on the "High Flow" hydraulic connection
1. Put the rocker switch item 9 (Fig. 59) to "Position 1".
2. Move the control lever for the optional hydraulics item Z
(Fig. 59) over the resistance point forwards until it engages.
Follow the steps in reverse order to switch off the "High
Flow" hydraulic connection.

Electrical connector on the loader lift arms
Activate the electrical connector on the lift arms (Fig. 60) by depressing the switch 2 designated in Fig. 61.
The electrical connector on the loader lift arm is used to connect attachments for which certain functions must be activated electrically.

Manual inching
This function allows you to individually adapt the traveling speed without constantly needing to put your foot on the braking- inching pedal.
The function is controlled using the lever item 1 (Fig. 62).
•
Move the lever to the left:
– The traveling speed of the vehicle is decreasing.
•
Move the lever to the right:
– The traveling speed of the vehicle is increasing.

Manual speed control
This function allows you to individually adjust the engine speed from idling to full throttle without needing to constantly keep your foot on the accelerator pedal.
The function is controlled using the lever item 2 (Fig. 63).
•
Move the lever back:
– The engine speed is increasing.
•
Move the lever forward:
– The engine speed is decreasing.
