This picture is set automatically during ingest processes from Nexio Ingest Suite in the backend. Depending on user rights it is possible to change this picture. To set a new reference picture: 1. On the VPMS MediaCenter Storyboard view move the mouse over the picture and tick the circle in the right lower corner of the picture. 2. A Confirmation dialog is displayed. Click the button ‘Yes’ to confirm. 3. On the VPMS MediaCenter Storyboard view the new reference picture is shown with a green tick mark and the reference picture of the video file is changed accordingly. Sequences The Sequences Section shows different sequences of a Media Object or different cuts within a Cutlist. Sequences illustrate logical segments of a video file. Each sequence represents one segment of the clip. Sequence lists (also referred to as Shotlists) can be generated automatically by VPMS, e.g. when segment information is imported from a news agency. Segments can also be added and edited manually using VPMS PreviewClient in order to split up and annotate the video clip logically. This segmentation process is a logical one; the original video material is not physically changed. © 2016 Imagine Communications Corp. Proprietary and Confidential 27-September-2016 | Page 31 of 106 Nexio® Ingest Suite Advanced v1 Operations Guide Overview VPMS supports the creation of multiple sequence lists for one video file with its VPMS PreviewClient application. The feature provides the option to segment material according to different categories and to manage these different levels separately: For example, an asset can have an automatically generated sequence list imported from a news agency. Additionally, the user generates its own segmentation/annotation according to further categories. E.g. he may describe the visual content in one sequence list, the audio information in another and create or import a third sequence list describing the property/usage rights. Sequences for Media Objects All Sequences are represented in a Sequence list. The name of the Sequence list is represented on the top. 1. 2. 3. 4. Nexio Ingest Suite imports the relevant Job data from the Mediabase and triggers the recording channel on the video server before the video must be encoded. The encoding module uses real-time timecode for the recording, and therefore broken time codes can be avoided. Figure 11: Timeline View © 2016 Imagine Communications Corp. SystemManager provides the following functions: Process Monitoring: View of completed, in-progress, and scheduled processes with details for processes and sub processes. Module Monitor: View of which computer has which modules installed and their status (Running, Stopped, Deactivated) and the option to restart modules. Configuration of User Roles Logfiles access Figure 20: System Manager System Manager Basics System Manager – Functional Areas System Manager consists of different functional areas for which additional details are provided in the following sections in this document: © 2016 Imagine Communications Corp. Microsoft offers a Silverlight plugin for your web browsers with allows for “rich internet applications”. This will provide for more comfortable and extensive functionality than what is possible with standard HTML pages. The different functional areas are referred to as “Silverparts”. Process Monitoring: Search and Search Results Search Nexio Ingest Suite SystemManager offers two different searching options: © 2016 Imagine Communications Corp. Proprietary and Confidential 27-September-2016 | Page 99 of 106 Nexio® Ingest Suite Advanced v1 Operations Guide System Manager Option1: Use the search mask. In this mask the user can select different criteria in order to filter the results depending on the process type, customer-specific metadata or process status. Option 2: Apply and use preconfigured searches. These will be displayed as Workfolders. Workfolder Search Mask Figure 22: Nexio Ingest Suite SystemManager Search Mask Search for: Metadata, creation time, execution time, source, Target, special types derived from modules, specific workflows, Job state (e.g. In Process, Done, Error), Priorities Query Command Window: Displays the search query as SQL for improved visibility/understanding for database admins Searches can be stored and reloaded later The search results are displayed in the process monitoring. Search Results The search results are displayed in table The columns of this table are configured by Arvato Systems in order to show the most important information on the first glance The details include e.g. the status of the process In the workflow tree, the individual processes are shown. Processes can be restarted using the StartIcon shown behind the process depending on the process status (e.g. in case of errors processes can be restarted). The user can open the log file for selected workflows. In order to view the log files, the additional application Log4View must be installed © 2016 Imagine Communications Corp. The logfiles provides details on the execution of tasks with details on the processes and error messages for administrators and developers. The detail level of the log files is configurable, and the “log level” is tied to each process. This provides the capability to filter and store information suited for different usages. The log files are collected daily through Nexio Ingest Suite scripts and added to a central Zip archive. The Nexio Ingest Suite System Manager allows for the opening of log files of the different modules through the use of Log4View. Log4View provides the user with filter and search functions to drill into different log levels and thus present the information into a reduced, more readable format. Log File View in Log4View All log files can be viewed for all processes. Log File View for a Specific Process It is also possible to view the log files for specific processes. © 2016 Imagine Communications Corp.
