Frequently asked questions
The protection patch panel distributes port connections of two 24-Port High-Density DS1 Multiservice modules when configured for a 1:1 protection scheme. It ensures that if one module fails, the other module takes over and maintains traffic flow.
One module operates in a normal working mode while the other operates as a backup. If the working module fails, the protection module takes over automatically, and traffic is seamlessly switched over.
The LEDs indicate the operational status of the protection patch panel. The WORKING ACTIVE LEDs are illuminated when the panel is functioning normally, while the WORKING INACTIVE LEDs are illuminated when the panel is in protected mode.
