ABOUT FLASH METERING
The metering mode switches automatically for both the built-in and accessory flash depending on the lens in use:
ADI Flash Metering - when using D series lenses. ADI (Advanced
Distance Integration) metering uses the distance information from D series lenses in addition to Pre-flash TTL metering to control the exposure. This metering system is less influenced by background conditions or the subject’s reflectance.
Pre-flash TTL Flash Metering - when using non-D series lenses.
Pre-flash TTL (Through The Lens) flash metering system controls the flash during the exposure automatically.
