Lync Server 2010 and Verizon SIP Trunk
Step 3: Configuring the Number of Media
Channels
In order to perform the coder transcoding, you need to define DSP channels. The number of media channels represents the number of digital signaling processors
(DSP) channels that the gateway allocates to IP-to-IP calls (the remaining DSP channels can be used for PSTN calls). Two IP media channels are used per IP-to-IP call. The maximum number of media channels available on the gateway is 120 (i.e., up to 60 IP-to-IP calls).
To configure the number of media channels:

Open the 'IP Media Settings' page (Configuration tab > VoIP menu > IP Media >
IP Media Settings
).

In the 'Number of Media Channels parameter, enter 120 to enable up to 60 IP-to-
IP calls with transcoding; click Apply New Value.
