IQ Commercial Envoy Installation and Operation
Installation Planning and Preparation
Installation and operation of the IQ Commercial Envoy requires no specialized equipment or unique computer or networking expertise. To the Local Area Network (LAN), the IQ Commercial Envoy is just another host on the network, much like a personal computer. The IQ Commercial Envoy simply connects to the on-site router or Enphase Mobile Connect
™ (cellular modem) for communications with the Enphase
Enlighten monitoring and analysis website. The IQ Commercial Envoy communicates with the microinverters using the site’s power lines.
After the IQ Commercial Envoy is installed and the microinverters are scanned or provisioned, it maintains an internal database of all known Enphase Microinverters at the site it manages. At regular intervals, the IQ
Commercial Envoy polls each microinverter for its energy data. Using its Internet connection, the IQ
Commercial Envoy then forwards that information to Enlighten. The IQ Commercial Envoy also reports any error conditions that affect it or the microinverters. You can view both energy data and error conditions in
Enlighten.
The IQ Commercial Envoy incorporates power line and Internet communications functions. One "side" of the
IQ Commercial Envoy communicates with the microinverters through power lines at the site. The other "side" of the IQ Commercial Envoy communicates with Enlighten over the Internet.
