6. To install the hard-disk-drive EMI shield, align the hole in the EMI shield with the standoff in the chassis as shown. Then, push the EMI shield straight down until it is secured by the standoff firmly and the three tabs 1 on the EMI shield also are secured by the corresponding holes in the chassis.

Replacing the 3.5-inch hard disk drive or hybrid hard disk drive
Attention:
Do not open your computer or attempt any repair before reading and understanding the Chapter
2 “Safety information” on page 3.
This section provides instructions on how to replace the 3.5-inch hard disk drive or hybrid hard disk drive.
Note: The 3.5-inch hybrid hard disk drive is available only in some models. To replace the 3.5-inch hybrid hard disk drive, follow the steps of replacing the 3.5-inch hard disk drive.
To replace the 3.5-inch hard disk drive, do the following:
1. Remove all media from the drives and turn off all attached devices and the computer. Then, disconnect all power cords from electrical outlets and disconnect all cables that are connected to the computer.
2. Place a soft, clean towel or cloth on the desk or surface. Hold the sides of your computer and gently lay it down so that the screen is against the surface and the cover is facing up.
3. Remove the computer stand. See “Removing and installing the computer stand” on page 71.
4. Remove the computer cover. See “Removing the computer cover” on page 75.

6. Remove the screw 1 , and then pivot the hard-disk-drive bracket with the hard disk drive as shown to remove it from the chassis.

7. Disconnect the cable from the hard disk drive.
8. Remove the four screws that secure the hard disk drive to the bracket, and then remove the hard disk drive from the bracket. Do not touch the circuit board on the bottom of the hard disk drive.

9. To install the new hard disk drive, position the new hard disk drive in the hard-disk-drive bracket so that the four screw holes in the hard disk drive align with the corresponding holes in the bracket. Then, install the four screws to secure the hard disk drive to the bracket.
