Hitachi Device Manager is a software application that provides a centralized management interface for Hitachi storage subsystems. It allows administrators to monitor, manage, and configure storage devices, including disk arrays, tape drives, and other storage components. Hitachi Device Manager provides a comprehensive set of features that enable administrators to manage and optimize storage resources.

Intended Audience
This document is intended for users who manage systems containing storage subsystems (disk array devices). Such users should have a basic knowledge of:
Data processing and peripheral storage device subsystems and their basic functions,
Hitachi Device Manager and the operating systems (OS) on which it operates (e.g., Windows, Solaris and Red Hat Linux for Device Manager server; Windows, Solaris, AIX, HP-UX, Red Hat Linux and SUSE LINUX for
Device Manager agents),
Relevant operating systems (if using the Device Manager Web Client), such as Windows, Solaris, HP-UX, or Red Hat Linux,
Relevant operating systems (if using Device Manager CLI), such as
Windows, Solaris, AIX, HP-UX, or Red Hat Linux,
Relevant operating systems (if using Device Manager CLIEX), such as
Windows, Solaris, or AIX,
Management tools appropriate to the individual storage subsystem (e.g.,
Storage Navigator for Universal Storage Platform and Lightning 9900V,
DAMP for Thunder 9500V), and
SANs (storage area networks).
