8. TROUBLESHOOTING
If the equipment does not function correctly, check the equipment referring to the list down below. Take the action recommended in the list. If the malfunction still lasts, contact the Sales Department, the nearest branch company, branch office, sales office, or any agent of Japan Radio Co., Ltd.
8.1. The Recording Control Unit (NDV-1800/1850)
8.1.1. Symptom Table for The Power Supply Unit (NBL-327)
Symptom
POWER LED fails to light.
Causes
No power is supplied from the switchboard.
POWER SWITCH is not on.
The AC-line fuse is blown.
Fault in the Power Supply Unit
Actions to be taken
Check the switchboard.
Turn on the POWER SWITCH.
Check the AC-line fuse in the Power Supply
Unit. If it is blown, replace it with a spare.
Contact us.
The BATTERY OP. LED lights up.
BATTERY ABNORMAL
LED lights up.
No power is supplied from the switchboard.
The fuse for the AC power source is blown.
The battery cable is disconnected.
The fuse for the battery is blown.
The battery is deteriorated.
Check the switchboard.
Check the fuse for the AC power source and, if it is blown, replace it with a spare.
Check if the battery cable is connected.
Check the fuse in the middle of the battery cable. If it is blown, replace it with a spare fuse.
Check the expiry date of the battery. If the battery has expired, exchange a battery.
FAN ABNORMAL LED lights up.
The fan is not working. Check the cable that connects the fans and the
DC/DC power supply. If there is no problem, replace the fans.

Symptom Causes
REC LED fails to light. The Recording Control Unit is off.
The power is not supplied to the Protective
Capsule Unit.
The recording of data onto the Protective Capsule
Unit has been stopped manually.
Actions to be taken
Check the switchboard.
Turn on the Power Supply Unit.
CARD LED fails to light up.
MEDIA LED blinks.
Faulty wiring between the Recording Control
Unit and the Protective Capsule Unit
Fault in the Recording Control Unit
Fault in the Protective Capsule Unit
The CARD STOP SWITCH is left on.
No CF CARD is loaded.
Fault in the Recording Control Unit
Fault in the CF CARD
No CF CARD is loaded.

Press the REC START SWITCH on the Main
Control Board and restart the recording of data.
Check the Connection Box.
Check the LAN communication by a PING command.
MCB: PING 192.168.110.3
Capsule: PING 192.168.110.2
In case a no response
MCB (CDJ-2304) :
Fault in a circuit board or setting data
Capsule :
Fault in a circuit board or setting data
Reboot the Recording Control Unit and see if it works normally. If it does not work, contact us.
Exchange a broken Unit (MCB or Capsule).
Press the CF CARD EJECT BUTTON and remove it from the Main Control Board. Then put it back again.
Insert a CF CARD into the CARD slot of the
Main Control Board.
Reboot the Recording Control Unit and see if it works normally. If it does not work, contact us.
Press the CF CARD EJECT BUTTON and remove it from the Main Control Board. Then put it back again.
In not activating, format the CF card into
FAT32 with PC.
Insert a CF CARD into the CARD slot of the
Main Control Board.
Reboot the Recording Control Unit and see if it works normally. If it does not work, contact us.

8.2. The Operation Panel Unit (NCG-169)
All failures of the Recording Control Unit are indicated by the Operation Panel Unit as an error code.
Symptom Causes Actions to be taken
All LEDs blink and the
ALARM BUZZER sounds.
The software of the Recording Control Unit lost control.
Faulty wiring between the Recording Control
Unit and the Operation Panel Unit.
Reboot the Recording Control Unit.
RECORDING LED fails to light.
The Recording Control Unit is off.
The power is not supplied to the Protective
Capsule Unit.
Stop manually the recording of data onto the
Protective Capsule Unit.
Check the wiring between the Recording
Control Unit and the Operation Panel Unit.
In case a correct wiring
MCB (CDJ-2304) :
Fault in a circuit board or setting data
OPB (CCK-935) :
Fault in a circuit board or setting data
Check the switchboard.
Turn on the Power Supply Unit.
Press the REC START SWITCH on the Main
Control Board in the Recording Control Unit and restart the recording of data.
Check the Connection Box. Faulty wiring between the Recording Control
Unit and the Protective Capsule Unit
Fault in the Recording Control Unit
Fault in the Protective Capsule Unit
Initial value of HEADING is not registered yet.
Reboot the Recording Control Unit and see if it works normally. If it does not work, contact us.
Enter the initial value of HEADING ERROR CODE: “01__” lights up.
ERROR CODE: “31__” lights up.
The CARD STOP SWITCH is left on.
No CF CARD is loaded.
Press the CF CARD EJECT BUTTON and remove it from the Main Control Board. Then put it back again.

In not activating, format the CF card into
FAT32 with PC.
Reboot the Recording Control Unit and see if it works normally. If it does not work, contact us.
Press and hold the REC START SWITCH for ten seconds.
Check the Connection Box. Faulty wiring between the Recording Control
Unit and the Protective Capsule Unit.

The BER ERROR could occur temporarily.
The error is canceled in less than 2 days automatically.
If the error is not canceled after 2 days, contact us.
Fault in the Capsule
Exchange the capsule.
Check the sensor equipment shown by error code.
Check the wiring between the Recording
Control Unit and the sensors.
Check the receiving data and setting data by the Maintenance software.
Reboot the Recording Control Unit. See if the symptom persists. If so, contact us.
Reboot the Recording Control Unit, and see if the symptom persists. If so, contact us.
Check the setting data by the Maintenance software.
Check the wiring between the Microphone
Unit and the Recording Control Unit.
Reboot the Recording Control Unit in noise-free environment.

The fan of NWP-46 is out of order.
Actions to be taken
Check the GPS.
If the GPS is error-free, contact us.
Check the receiving data and setting data by the Maintenance software.
Check that ZDA or RMC sentence is received and recorded from CH which is connected to a main GPS.
Exchanging the lithium battery on the MCB
(CDJ-2304).
Reboot the Recording Control Unit, and see if the symptom persists
or not. If yes,

Exchange the ARB.
Check the RADR.
If an image is displayed on the screen, check the wiring between the RADAR and the
