V4.5 120V AC Electric Jackhammer Kit 8520892 b. Discontinue use if a power cord feels more than comfortably warm while operating the tool. c. Have the power cord replaced by a qualified service technician.

3. Keep all connections dry and off the ground to reduce the risk of electric shock. Do not touch plug with wet hands.

4. Prevent damage to the power cord by observing the following: a. Never use the cord to carry the tool. b. Do not pull on the cord to disconnect the plug from an outlet. c. Keep the power cord clear of the tool and the tool's work path while in operation. The cord should always stay behind the tool. d. Keep cord away from heat, oil, sharp edges or moving parts.

5. Do not allow people, mobile equipment or vehicles to pass over unprotected power cords. a. Position power cords away from traffic areas. b. Place cords in reinforced conduits. c. Place planks on either side of the power cord to create a protective trench.

6. Do not wrap cord around tool as sharp edges may cut insulation or cause cracks if wound too tight. Gently coil cord and either hang on a hook or fasten with a device to keep cord together during storage.

POLARIZED PLUG

Double insulated tools eliminate the need for a 3-wire grounded power cord and grounded power supply system. The tool is equipped instead with a polarized plug that requires a polarized outlet/power supply.

1. A polarized plug has two blades of different widths, allowing only one way to insert the plug into the outlet.

2. If the outlet does not accept a polarized plug, contact a qualified electrician to install a polarized outlet. Do not alter the plug as this may compromise the built-in safety feature.

2. Anyone using vibrating tools regularly or for an extended period should first be examined by a doctor and then have regular medical check-ups to ensure medical problems are not being caused by or worsened from tool use.

3. If you feel any medical symptoms related to vibrations (such as tingling, numbness, and white or blue fingers), seek medical attention as soon as possible.

4. DO NOT use this tool if one of the following applies: a. Pregnant b. Impaired blood circulation to the hands c. Past hand injuries d. Nervous system disorders e. Diabetes f. Raynaud's Disease

5. Do not smoke while operating the tool. Nicotine reduces the blood flow to the hands and fingers, increasing the risk of vibration-related injury.

6. Wear suitable gloves to reduce the effects of vibration.

7. Use the tool with the least amount of vibration, when there is a choice between different processes.

8. Do not use for extended periods. Take frequent breaks when using this tool.

9. Let the tool do the work. Grip the tool as lightly as possible (while still keeping safe control of it).

10. To reduce vibrations, maintain the tool as explained in this manual. If abnormal vibrations occur, stop using this tool immediately.

ELECTROMAGNETIC FIELDS

Electromagnetic Fields (EMF) can interfere with electronic devices such as pacemakers. Anyone with a pacemaker should consult with their doctor before working with or near a tool that generates an EMF. The following steps can minimize the effects of electromagnetic fields.

1. Keep the power source and any power cables as far away from the user as practical. A minimum of 24 in. is recommended.

2. Avoid long and regular bursts of energy while operating the tool. Use the tool for short or intermittent periods of time. This will prevent a pacemaker from interpreting the signal as a rapid heartbeat.
