You can use any water softener salt of good quality, including “rock,” “pellet,” “solar,” or “evaporated” types. All rock salt, regardless of source, contains insoluble material, which collects at the bottom of the salt storage tank and requires periodic clean out.

You can start a manual regeneration by turning the manual backwash knob clockwise to the first position. The process will take approximately 1 hour.

Salt levels need to be maintained at approximately 100mm above the bottom of the tank and 50mm from the top of the tank.

If you unexpectedly experience hard water, make these simple checks before calling Water2buy. Run a manual regeneration, check your power supply, check for a blown fuse, check your salt supply, and check to see if you have a continuous flow to the drain.

Tighten the brine suction hose connection, tighten the connection between the control valve and vessel, and clean the injectors.

Use only mild soap and warm water when cleaning the exterior of the softener. Never use harsh, abrasive cleaning compounds or those, which contain acid, such as vinegar, bleach and similar products.
