User Manual for SR-4/SR-24/SR-32/Video Slave | Manualzz

The difference in frames and tenths (+/- 1/10) between the timecode reader and the reported (RS422) position of the currently selected machine is displayed in the middle of the upper line of the display.

3= Checksum

Not yet implemented

8.27 TC Reader -> Serial Port

MENU 27:- TC Reader -> Port

0= OFF, 1= A, 2= B, 3= C, 4=D (, 5= E)

The timecode reader may be used for positional information in preference to the serial data, this menu selects which port uses the timecode reader data.

8.28 Reader Incremental and direction test

MENU 28:- Reader Incremental & Dir Test

0= ON, 1= OFF, 2= Gen Check

0= On, 1= OFF

This turns off both the incremental code test and the direction test on the LTC timecode reader. This may be useful chasing generated code e.g. from the MWA VFS film control system, or DA-88.

2= Gen Check

Timecode Generator check mode

The Timecode generator is the system master, as such the performance of the generator will determine the performance of the system. Connect the output of the generator to the timecode reader and enable this mode to perform a self check. Note that the generator is jammed from the master code, this will be updated once per 6 frames until capstan lock is reported for 1 second. The generator output will therefore also depend on the position reported by the selected master.

The incremental code check is enabled and two checks are made on the timecode once per frame as follows: a) Is the timecode raw input value 00:00:00:00? (reported problem) b) Is there a code dropout when the master reports locked play?

When the Reader is selected the middle of the upper line of the display will show

0=nn E=mm where nn is a hexadecimal count of the number of frames for which the timecode value = 00:00:00:00 mm is a hexadecimal count of the number of drop-out frames

Note: To reset the two error counters enter and exit setup.

8.29 System Frame Reference

MENU 29:- System Frame Reference

0= Video, 1= Reader/Video, 2= Reader

To allow non-standard frame rates (24fps) the timecode reader frame edge may be used as the master reference to the system.

8.30 Stationary Code

MENU 29:- Stationary Code

0= 2 Seconds 1= Continuous

This Menu Controls the Main Timecode Output and will normally mute stationary code after 2 seconds.
