Schneider Electric XBTL1OMR01 SYSMAC-WAY Protocol allows for communication between an XBT terminal and an OMRON PLC. As a master device, the XBT can initiate three types of actions: those initiated by the automation system, those initiated by the operator, and those initiated by the XBT itself. The XBT supports ASCII mode dialogue under the SYSMAC-WAY sub-protocol. Other features include a historical occupancy rate, a print command, and the ability to lock function, system, and numeric keys.

2 - Principe de fonctionnement
- L'XBT a le statut de MAÎTRE.
- Le principe de fonctionnement de l'XBT est basé sur une "table de dialogue" qui se trouve dans l'automate (Esclave).
L'XBT en tant que MAÎTRE réalise 3 types d'actions :
• à l'initiative de l'automatisme,
• à l'initiative de l'opérateur,
• à sa propre initiative.
Le protocole SYSMAC-WAY est le protocole de communication supporté par tous les automates OMRON.
Il est possible de connecter l'XBT en point à point sur l'automate via le connecteur RS232 ou d'utiliser un réseau RS422 sur lequel on peut raccorder jusqu'à 32 automates.
Le dialogue entre les niveaux supérieurs de traitement et le Terminal MAGELIS est du type question/réponse. Le demandeur, l'XBT (station maître) transmet les messages à exécuter
à l'esclave (automate).

1 - Installation of the protocol: start XBT-L1000
2 cases :
There is no protocol installed: the dialogue window "Install protocol" opens automatically.
- If a protocol is already installed, you can either update the existing version or install another protocol.
In this case: close all applications, select "File", then "Install protocol".
2 - Operating principle
- The XBT has the status of MASTER .
- The operating prinicple of the XBT is based on a "dialogue table" that is situated in the PLC
(Slave).
The XBT as a MASTER carries out 3 kinds of action:
• on initiative of the PLC,
• on initiative of the operator,
• on its own initiative.
All OMRON process controllers use the SYSMAC-WAY protocol as communication protocol.
XBT can be connected to the process controller in point-to-point mode via the RS232 connector, or an RS422 network can be used on which you can connect up to 32 PLCs(*).
The dialog between the superior processing levels and the MAGELIS terminal consists in request / replies. The requester, XBT (master station) transmits the messages to be executed to the slave (PLC).
In the SYSMAC-WAY protocol the terminal communicates in ASCII mode.

If you connect an XBT requiring writing in memory in a process controller in RUN mode will cause the process controller to switch to MONITOR mode.

• Diagnostic counters
4 diagnostic counters can be displayed on the protocol's system page (line parameters):
- CPT1: number of responses received without any FCS* error.
- CPT2: number of responses received with FCS* error.
- CPT3: number of responses with incorrect length or control bytes.
- CPT4: number of requests that have not been answered.
*FCS: Frame Check Sequence
• Behaviour at the occurence of errors :
- display: "??????…" on transmission error : speed / format / parity / FCS / no response,
- display of ??? on an invalid PLC address,
- display of check marks for the graphic objects, upon no answer or defective communication function,

2 - Funktionsweise unter SYSMAC-WAY
- Das XBT hat den Status MASTER.
- Die Funktionsweise des XBT basiert auf einer "Dialogtabelle", die sich in der SPS befindet
(Slave).
Das XBT in seiner Funktion als Master führt die 3 folgenden Aktionsarten aus:
• auf Initiative der SPS,
• auf Initiative des Bedieners,
• auf seine eigene Initiative.
Das Protokoll SYSMAC-WAY ist das von allen OMRON-Automaten unterstützte
Kommunikationsprotokoll.
Das XBT kann durch eine Punkt-zu-Punkt Verbindung über die RS232 Schnittstelle mit dem
Automaten verbunden werden, oder über ein RS422-Netz, über das bis zu 32 SPS*-Einheiten angeschlossen werden können.
Der Dialog zwischen den höheren Bearbeitungsniveaus und dem MAGELIS-Bedienterminal besteht aus Fragen/Antworten. Der Requester, das XBT (Master-Station) leitet die Meldungen zur Ausführung an den Slave weiter (den Automaten).
Im SYSMAC-WAY-Protokoll kommuniziert der Bedienterminal im ASCII-Modus.

• Diagnosezähler
Auf der Systemseite des Protokolls (Leitungsparameter) können 4 Diagnosezähler angezeigt werden :
- Zähler 1 : Anzahl der ohne FCS*-Fehler erhaltenen Antworten.
- Zähler 2 : Anzahl der mit FCS*-Fehler erhaltenen Antworten.
- Zähler 3 : Anzahl der Antworten mit falscher Länge oder falschem Kontroll-Byte.
- Zähler 4 : Anzahl der ohne Antwort geblieber en Anfrangen

1 - Instalación: lanzar el XBT-L1000
2 casos:
- Ningún protocolo ha sido instalado todavía : la caja de diálogo "Instalar Protocolo" se abre automáticamente.
- Si ha sido instalado un protocolo, puede actualizar la versión existente o instalar otro protocolo.
En este caso : cerrar todas las aplicaciones, seleccionar "Fichero " y luego "Instalar protocolo".
2 - Principio de funcionamiento en SYSMAC-WAY
- El XBT desempeña la función MAESTRO.
- El principio de funcionamiento del XBT se basa en una "tabla de diálogo" ubicada en el autómata (Esclavo).
El XBT como MAESTRO realiza tres tipos de acciones :
• a iniciativa del automatismo,
• a iniciativa del operador,
• a su propia iniciativa.
El protocolo SYSMAC-WAY es el protocolo de comunicación de todos los autómatas
OMRON.
Es posible conectar el XBT en punto a punto con el autómata por medio del conector RS232
ó utilizar una red RS422 con la que se puede conectar hasta 32 PLC(*).
El diálogo entre los niveles superiores de tratamiento y el Terminal MAGELIS es de tipo
Petición/Respuesta. El peticionario, XBT (estación maestra) transmite los mensajes a ejecutar al esclavo (autómata).
Con el protocolo SYSMAC-WAY, el Terminal dialoga en modo ASCII.

4 contadores de diagnóstico son vizualizables en la página sistema del protocolo (parámetros de línea) :
- CPT1 : Número de respuestas recibidas sin error FCS*.
- CPT2 : Número de respuestas recibidas con error FCS*.
- CPT3 : Número de respuestas con longitudes o bytes de control incorrectos.
- CPT4 : Número de peticiones que permanecen sin respuesta.

1 - Installazione del protocollo : per lanciare l’XBT-L1000
2 casi :
- Non è installato nessun protocollo: la finestra di dialogo “ Installa Protocollo” si apre automaticamente.
- Se un protocollo è già installato, si può aggiornare la versione esistente oppure installare un altro protocollo.
In tal caso: chiudere tutte le applicazioni,

2 - Principio di funzionamento in SYSMAC-WAY
- L'XBT ha lo stato di MASTER.
- Il principio di funzionamento dell’XBT è basato su una “tabella di dialogo” che si trova nel
PLC (Slave).
Come MASTER l’XBT effettua 3 tipi di azioni :
• su iniziativa del PLC,
• su iniziativa dell’operatore,
• di propria iniziativa.
Il protocollo SYSMAC-WAY è il protocollo di comunicazione sopportato da tutti gli automi
OMRON.
E' possibile connettere l'XBT all'automa in punto punto tramite il connettore RS232 oppure utilizzare una rete RS422 su cui si possono collegare fino a 32 PLC(*).
Il dialogo tra i livelli superiori di elaborazione e il Terminale MAGELIS è del tipo richiesta/ risposta. Il richiedente, l'XBT (stazione master) trasmette i messaggi da eseguire allo schiavo
(automa).
Sotto protocollo SYSMAC-WAY, il Terminale dialoga in modo ASCII.

4 - Configurazione della tabella di dialogo
- Selezionare Configurazione / Tabella di dialogo,
- indicare l’indirizzo dell’inizio di tabella, la durata di ciclo,
- costruire la tabella aggiungendo o cancellando le funzioni a seconda dell’applicazione.
NOTA : Troverete il dettaglio del contenuto della tavola di dialogo Capitolo D del tomo 1 e
Capitolo E del tomo 2 delle guide di uso della gamma MAGELIS.
5 - Simbolo apparecchiatura
- Selezionare Configurazione / Simbolo Apparecchiatura.
- Aggiungere gli indirizzi delle apparecchiature che saranno accessibili dall’XBT.
- La configurazione dello slave indirizzato per default dall’XBT-L1000 è 0.

9 - Diagnostica
• Contatori di diagnostica
4 contatori di dagnostica sono visualizzabili nella pagina sistema del protocollo (parametri di linea) :
- CPT1 : numero di risposte ricevute senza errore FCS*.
- CPT2 : numero di risposte ricevute con errore FCS*.
- CPT3 : numero di risposte con lunghezza o bytes di controllo scorretti.
- CPT4 : numero di richieste rimaste senza risposta.
*FCS : Frame Check Sequence
• Comportamento in caso di errore :
- visualizzazione di “??????...” per errore di trasmissione : velocità / formato / parità / FCS / non risposta,
- visualizzazione di ??? su indirizzo automa invalido,
- visualizzazione di croce per gli oggetti grafici in caso di mancata risposta o funzione di comunicazione in difetto,
- nessuna ripetizione su non risposta.
10 - Data ed ora interna
Per aver accesso alla data ed all'ora dei terminali, è possibile definire sotto XBT-L1000 campi alfanumerici indirizzati su variabili interne.
