Life-threatening danger from electric shock!
ZZShould only be installed by a professional
WARNING
• To avoid injury, the device should only be connected and installed by a
professional electrician.
• Before installing the product, turn off the mains power supply.
• Before installing the device, install a circuit breaker (250 VAC, 10 A) type C
as specified by EN 60898-1.
• When some types of lamps burn out, it can cause the switch-on current to
be high which can permanently damage the unit.
• Follow national regulations and safety instructions.
• All warranties and conditions expire if the device is altered or manipulated
in any way.
Follow these instructions to ensure proper and safe functioning of this device.
Information about the device
Device description
The motion detector uses passive infrared sensors (PIR sensor). It reacts to
thermal changes within the field of detection, such as people walking by, and
turns on for an adjustable length of time depending on the set light level of
the connected lighting device.
Intended use
)
Installation (FIG. 4)
NOTE: Disconnect the power and secure against being accidentally turned
on.
1. Remove motion detector head (c) and frame (d) from connection
housing (b) (FIG. 4C).
2. Remove 6-8 mm insulation from the power cable (FIG. 4A).
3. Connect the motion detector, see the connection diagram (FIG. 3).
4. Put connection housing (b) into the socket (a) and screw on (FIG. 4B).
5. Put motion detector head (c) in the frame (d) and carefully push
together in the mounting of the connection housing (FIG. 4C).
Replacing the fuse (FIG. 5)
The motion detector has a fuse to protect against overload or incorrect
wiring. To replace the fuse, proceed as follows:
NOTE: Disconnect the power and secure against being accidentally turned
on.
1. Remove motion detector head (c) and frame (d) from connection
housing (b) (FIG. 4C).
2. Pull out fuse holder (f).
3. Take out and replace fuse (e).
4. Push fuse holder (f) in the connection housing.
5. Put motion detector head (c) in the frame (d) and carefully push
together in the mounting of the connection housing (FIG. 4C).
Adjusting and setting
Manual switch and knobs (FIG. 6)
The manual switch and the knobs are located under the cover at the
motion detector head (g) (FIG. 4C).
Manual switch (
)
The operating mode of the motion detector can be set with the manual
switch:
ON: The lighting device is switched on for 2 hours. Then the motion
detector automatically returns to automatic mode.
AUTO: Automatic mode.
OFF: The lighting device switches off.
Light level LUX (
)
The “LUX” knob is used to set the light sensor level at which the lighting
device turns on.
”.
• Adjustable from approx. 5 Lux to “
• “ ” = Training mode: The current light sensor level (5 Lux to
500 Lux) is saved.
Detection range METER (
)
The detection range in which the lighting device is switched on when
detecting movement can be set with the “METER” knob.
• Adjustable from “-” (R 2 m) to “+” (R 9 m).

In order to save the desired light sensor level (5-500 Lux), proceed as
follows:
1. Turn the “LUX” knob to the position “ ” when the ambient light
corresponds with the desired light sensor level.
2. If the knob is already turned to the position “ ”, turn it to a
different position for about 3 seconds, e.g. “100”, and then turn it
back to position “ .”
3. This turns off the connected lighting device.
ZZThe LED on the motion detector starts to flash slowly (training
mode active).
4. NOTE: It takes about 10 seconds to save the light level.
5. If training has been successful, the lighting device and the LED turn
on for 5 seconds, or the LED flashes for 5 seconds and the lighting
device is off.
ZZThe motion detector switches back to automatic mode (the LED
and lighting device are turned off).
(f)
• The primary purpose of the device is to provide illumination in areas
where movement is detected.
• The motion detector can be used inside buildings such as staircases,
entrances to buildings, foyers, hallways, corridors, and cellars.
• Suitable for wall installation (flush-mounted fitting).

Installation and assembly
• Do not install the motion detector close to
–– sources of heat (fan heaters, air conditioning, lighting or other devices
that can interfere with the sensor).
–– Objects with shiny surfaces (such as mirrors)
–– Objects that can be moved by the wind (such as curtains, large plants)
(FIG. 2A).
• Keep out of direct sunlight.
• The recommended installation height is 1.2 - 1.5m (FIG. 2B).
Connection diagram (FIG. 3)
Life-threatening danger from electric shock!
Should only be installed by a professional electrician.
A lighting device is controlled by a motion detector.
• It may be necessary to use a fuse in the case of inductive loads (such as
relays, contactors, ballasts, etc.).
• It is recommended to connect a maximum of six devices in parallel.
Walking test
In the walking test mode, you can determine if the motion detector covers
the desired detection range. The installed LED serves as a display.
Setting the detection range:
1. Switch the motion detector to automatic mode with the manual
switch.
2. Turn the “METER” knob to the position “+”.
3. Turn the “TIME” knob to the position “Test” (Fig. 6).
4. Turn on the motion detector.
When the motion detector is connected to the grid for the first time,
it will perform a self-check cycle for approx. 60 seconds.
During this time, the lighting device and the LED can automatically
turn on, independent of the setting of the “TIME” knob. After the test
cycle, the selected mode is automatically activated.
5.
6.
7.
Proceed at an angle into the detection range until the LED turns on.
If required, adjust the detection range or the lens cover.
Repeat steps 5 and 6 until the desired detection range is set.
Lens cover/setting detection range
The motion detector comes with a lens cover to adjust the detection
range.
