Introduction
Thank you for purchasing the TSX07 Nano PLC. This document is intended to serve as an addendum to the TSX 07/FTX 117 user's manual. What follows are clarifications to the information contained in that manual. Future revisions of the manual will incorporate these changes.
As indicated in the TSX 07/FTX 117 users manual, the FTX 117 version 2.2
offers increased capability over the earlier versions of the terminal. Users that have the FTX 117 Terminal of version 2.1 or lower are encouraged to have their terminals upgraded to version 2.2. Please contact your local representative for more information.
Under each addendum title, a diagram indicates the types of PLC (TSX 07 2A,
TSX 07 2B, TSX 07 20, TSX 07 21) concerned. Relevant PLC types are highlighted in gray.
Addendum 1: Section B 3.1-2 - Structured Objects - Bit String Transfer
TSX 07 2A 2B 20 21
The following information should be added to this section:
The address of the first bit of a bit string must be a multiple of 8 (0, 8,
16,...96,...).
For example: %M64:6 is acceptable (64 is a multiple of 8)
%M17:16 is unacceptable (17 is not a multiple of 8).
As stated, this operation is concerned with the transfer of a contiguous string of bits (System Bits %Si:L, Grafcet Step Bits %Xi:L, Internal Memory Bits %Mi:L) for the following types of operations:
• Bit String --> Bit String,
• Bit String --> Word,
• Word--> Bit String,
• Immediate Value --> Bit String.
Using Version 2.2 or higher of the FTX 117 will prevent you from entering a bit address that is not a multiple of eight.
!
WARNING
UNITENTIONAL TRANSFER OF DATA
If you are using a FTX 117 version 2.1 or lower and you do not respect the multiple of eight rule the bit string transfer may result in affecting the value of other data areas (%MWi, %Xi....)
Failure to observe this precaution can cause equipment damage, personal injury or death
Note that, as stated in the ma nual, Input and Output bit strings (%I0:L and %Q0:L or %I1:L and %Q1:L), by definition, always start with an implied bit 0.
2
Addendum 2: Sections B 4.2 Schedule blocks
C 5.1 Configuring the schedule blocks (RTC)
TSX 07 2A 2B 20 21
The following information should be added to these sections:
1. With a FTX 117 terminal version V2.2 or higher
You can define up to 16 schedule blocks
- In Offline mode: you may create or delete up to 16 schedule blocks without restriction
- In Online mode: attempts at creating or deleting a 10 th schedule block is prevented by the terminal.
2. With a FTX 117 terminal version V2.1 or lower
You can define up to 9 schedule blocks
- In either Offline or Online mode, any attempt to create or delete a 10 th schedule block will result in a PLC error condition that will require the reloading of your program. If you are using schedule blocks, we encourage you to upgrade your terminal to version 2.2.
Addendum 3: Sections A 1.10 Status Display of PLC and the I/O
D 1.1 Troubleshooting using the PLC status LEDs
TSX 07 2A 2B 20 21
The following information should be added to this section:
The TSX 07 PLC's allow the user to control some of the LED status lights on the front face of the PLC.
In the version of the PLC referred to as the TSX 07 2A/2B PLCs (TSX072A•••• and TSX072B••••) the user can use memory bit %M112 to control the ERR light, on the front of the PLC, to indicate a user application error. The TSX07 operating system also uses this light to indicate a number of PLC errors as well.
If you wish to use the ERR light exclusively for system errors, avoid using the %M112 memory bit on the TSX 07 2A/2B PLCs.
Note : This feature has been enhanced in the TSX07 20/21 PLCs (TSX0720•••• and
TSX0721••••). In these PLCs, the ERR light is no longer used. Instead, memory bits
%M112 through %M127 can be used to control the I/O status lights as documented in the User'smanual (refer to sections A 1.9 and D 1.1).
3
Addendum 4: Sections C 4.2 Creating a program
C 4.3 Modifying a program
C 4.5 Programming Diagnostics
C 8.4 Modifying the Program in RUN Mode
TSX 07 2A 2B 20 21
To ensure a valid program exists, checks are performed (syntax diagnostics) by the terminal whenever a program is created or modified.
The time needed to perform the check varies depending on the size of the program and the instructions used.
1. In Offline mode
- With a FTX 117 terminal version V2.2 or higher the syntax diagnostic check is performed:
• At the User's request (in the program editor, menu option 3 Dgn)
• When transferring the program (in the program editor, menu option 1 Trf)
• When leaving the program editor (pressing the 'Edit' key)
In this way, the syntax check is made only once.
- With a FTX 117 terminal version V2.1 or lower the syntax diagnostic check is performed every time that you enter a "structuring" instruction such as function blocks (including timers and counters), stack operations and parenthetical AND's and OR's (refer to the instructions listed in Section G A.4).
2. In Online mode
For TSX07 PLCs version 2.2 or lower, the Online mode can provide a rapid means of modifying programs, especially in startup or machine trouble shooting situations. Basic programming/addressing changes, data modifications and configuration changes can be performed given that the precautions noted below are followed.
- PLC in RUN
Inserting, deleting, modifying "structuring" instructions is prevented by the
FTX 117 terminal.
- PLC in STOP
For TSX07 PLCs, version 2.2 or lower, we recommend that modifications of the program be made Offline if the modifications involve the structuring instructions as listed in Section G.A.4. In these PLCs, the watchdog may be triggered when the diagnostic syntax check is made, requiring a reinitialization
(ERR LED flashing) or power cycling (ERR LED lit continously) of the PLC.
4
Addendum 5 : Section B 3.1-6 Numerical instructions
TSX 07 2A 2B 20 21
Division (syntax [Op1 := Op2 / Op3]) or the remainder of division of 2
operands (syntax [Op1 := Op2 REM Op3]): With TSX 07 PLCs versionV2.2 or lower, the result of theses two operations is not significant when operand 3
(Op3) contains a value greater than 255.
Addendum 6 : Section B 3.3-6 SEND message transmission
Comments
TSX 07 2A 2B 20 21
When using the SEND instruction with an internal word table as an operand
(syntax [SEND %MWi:L]), non-retentive memory for word table should be use, i.e, the internal word table %MWi:L must have a base address of 16 or greater to ensure proper message transmission (i>15), and the table length must not exceed %MW255 (i+L<256).
Addendum 7 : Section B 2.3 Grafcet instructions
Addendum 7 : Section B 2.4-3 JUMP instruction to a label %Li
Addendum 7 : Section B 2.4-4 Subroutine instr. SRi, SRi:, RET,
TSX 07 2A 2B 20 21
The number i in a label (%Li:), in a subroutine declaration (SRi:) or in a Grafcet step (-*-i or =*=i) must be defined only once in a program.
With TSX 07 PLC version V2.2 or lower when on-line, or a FTX 117 Terminal version 2.2 or lower when off-line, any attempt to modify the number (i) to another number already existing elsewhere in the program will result in an invalid application, and the program will have to be reloaded.
Addendum 8 : Section B 2.4-5 Master control relay instructions
MCR and MCS
TSX 07 2A 2B 20 21
With TSX 07 PLC version V2.0 or V2.2, operate blocks must not be used between a MCS instruction and a MCR instruction.
!
WARNING
UNINTENTIONAL EQUIPMENT OPERATION
Do not program numerical instructions within a master control relay
(MCR/MCS) zone or the application program will run based on erroneous input image table information, causing unintentional output activation.
Failure to observe this precaution can result in equipment damage, severe personal injury or death.
5
Addendum 9 : Section B 4.2-1 Time-based programming
TSX 07 2A 2B 20 21
When using the real time Schedule Blocks with TSX 07s version V2.2 or lower, a cold restart must be performed by the program (by setting the system bit %S0 to 1) after each warm restart (system bit %S1 set to 1 by the operating system) to maintain proper schedule block operation. To do so, add the following 2 lines to the beginning of the program:
LD %S1 If %S1=1 (warm restart), then set system bit %S0 (cold restart) to 1 to
ST %S0 initialize. The system resets both of these bits to 0 at the end of the next scan cycle.
If the consequences resulting from the cold restart are incompatible with the application being controlled, do not use the real time Schedule Blocks, but program the equivalent functionality using the system words containing the current date and time (%SW50 to %SW53).
The following is true concerning a cold restart:
• internal bits %Mi, I/O bits %I/%Q: set to 0,
• system bits and words %Si and %SWi (except %S0): initialized with their default value.
• function blocks %TMi - %Ci: current values of %TMi.V - %Ci.V set to 0, loss of adjustment values with initialization of %TMi.P - %Ci.P% to the values defined during configuration.
• register blocks %Ri: contents of registers set to 0.
• drum controller blocks %DRi: initialized to step 0 with updating of command bits.
• counter function %FC: current value of %FC.V, outputs %FC.F, %FC.THi, and validation bit of Threshold outputs %SW111:X1 set to 0. Loss of adjustment values with initialization of %FC.P and %FC.Si to the values defined during configuration.
• shift bit register function blocks %SBRi: all %SBRi.j set to 0,
• step counter function blocks %SCi: loss of current step and initialization to step 0
%SCi.0,
• %PWM and %PLS functions: loss of adjustment values with initialization of
%PWM.P and %PLS.P to values defined during configuration,
• Schedule Blocks (RTC): real-time clock data defined at configuration retained.
• SEND message transmission : communication initialized %MSG.E=0 and
%MSG.D=1
• forcing: cancellation of forced bits,
• Grafcet: deactivation of steps -*-i and activation of initial step =*=i,
• restart execution cycle from beginning with bits %S0 and %S1 set to 0 at the end of the cycle.

Presentation
TSX ASN 10. modules enable an analog output to be used on TSX Nano PLCs with V3 solid-state outputs.
Operating Principle
TSX ASN 10. modules perform frequency -> voltage/current conversion, which requires the frequency input of the module to be connected to the PLC Q0.0
output, configured as a PWM function (time base 0.1 ms).
The analog operating mode is selected by setting the parameters of word
%SW102.
The image of the analog output value to be generated is written in word

The effective resolution of the analog output is 245 points.
Special case
If the value written in %SW103 is outside the limits of the range selected, the signal applied to the analog output module takes the nearest limit as its value.
Eg : if %SW102 =1 (range 5...249) and %SW103 = 2, the applied value is 5.
Attention
If the PLC discrete outputs are in fallback mode (set to zero), the TSX ASN 105 module (-10V...+10 V) will deliver a voltage equal to -10 V.

Beschreibung
Die Module TSX ASN 10. bieten zusätzliche Analogausgangsfunktionen für
Steuerungen des Typs TSX Nano mit Transistorausgängen V3.
Funktionsprinzip

Presentation
TSX AEN 10. modules enable an analog input to be used on TSX Nano PLCs with continuous inputs V2 (*) and V3.
Operating principle
TSX AEN 10. modules perform a linear voltage/current -> frequency conversion which requires the module frequency output to be connected to input I0.0 of the
PLC (configured as frequency meter at 10 KHz).
The analog operating mode selection is determined by the parameter setting for word %SW100.
The image of the analog input value is written in word %SW101.

Beschreibung
Die Module TSX AEN 10. ermöglichen die Konfiguration eines Analogeingangs auf Steuerungen des Typs TSX Nano mit Gs-Eingängen V2 (*) und V3.
Funktionsprinzip
