FXM UPS Operator's Manual
4.1 Wiring the RS-232 Port
The UPS’s front panel has a DB-9 female connector. When connected to a PC with Window’s
HyperTerminal or other terminal emulation software, the UPS can be remotely monitored and controlled with it’s command-line system (See Sections 4.2 to 4.5). The Novus User Software provides a Windows or Web browser type of control (See Section 4.6).
Procedure
1. Connect a 9-pin, fully shielded, straightthrough DB-9 to DB-9 connector cable between the computer’s port and the
UPS’s port.
2. Configure the communications parameters to the values shown in the terminal set up table.
