NOTE Midpoint snap cannot be used to enter a point at the center of an arc or circle. You must use Centerpoint snap to accomplish this. For more information, see page 109.

To enter a point at the midpoint of an entity

1 While in a drawing mode, activate Midpoint snap on the Snaps toolbar.

2 Click the entity.

TIP Midpoint snap is the same as Jump snap set to 50%.

AutoPoint indicator

Basepoint snap allows you to enter a point at the basepoint of an existing symbol. As you move the pointer over the drawing, a diamond-shaped

AutoPoint Indicator identifies the basepoint of any symbol you pass over.

To enter a point at the basepoint of an existing symbol

1 While in a drawing mode, activate Basepoint snap on the Snaps toolbar.

2 Click the symbol.
